I’m obsessed with how to get more high-quality organic traffic to my website, but I hate paying people for answers. 

It’s frustrating when someone is charging hundreds of dollars to learn one fact. So after chasing down valuable information (and learning a few things the hard way), here are some ways I’ve found that you can get answers to your marketing questions without paying someone:

As a business owner and marketer, you can use Google to find answers.

There are so many questions that we have as marketers questions related to our marketing strategy, our business model, and even our company culture. 

And while some of these questions require a consultation with an expert in the field (or at least an hour or two at your local coffee shop), most don’t. 

Google can help you find the answers to most of your marketing questions without paying for an hour-long consulting session or buying into a half-day workshop on how to use social media more effectively.

So let’s dive in!

Take Advantage Of Free Resources

The first place to look for answers is your brain. I know that sounds obvious, but you’d be surprised how often we forget to do it.

When I need help on a marketing project, my first instinct is always to talk through the problem with my team and see if they have any ideas or feedback. This conversation can become part of your brainstorming process (see below).

If you don’t have a marketing team at your disposal, you can also start by talking to people in other departments who might be able to provide insight into what your target audience is looking for or how they behave online. 

For example: Who at work could give me some insights into which type of content resonates best with our customers? Can anyone tell me if they’ve seen anything like this before? What would make them more likely to buy from us?

Read Blogs

Blogs are a great way to learn, connect with other people, share your knowledge, and gain feedback on your ideas. You can get inspiration from reading about what other people have done in the past, or you can use them to brainstorm new ideas for your business.

Blogs are also an easy way to ask questions without paying someone else. Many bloggers publish questions they’ve received and answer them in their blog posts. 

If you ask a question publicly on Twitter or Facebook it can be seen by hundreds of thousands of people so make sure that if someone responds with an answer that it’s acceptable before sending them contact information!

Join Facebook Groups For Business Owners

There’s a good chance you’ve heard of Facebook groups, but how do you know if the one you’re looking at is legit and not just some scammy group that wants to steal your money? Here are some things to look for:

Make sure it’s relevant. You want to join a group where people can answer your questions and help point you in the direction of information that will help solve your problem. 

So before searching for a group, think about what type of questions or advice will be most helpful to you right now. Once that question has been answered, move on! 

It’s important to keep moving forward with our lives instead of staying stuck in an endless cycle of getting answers only to have new questions come up later on down the road because things change over time (which they do). 

And while this doesn’t mean we should quit asking questions altogether because who doesn’t love learning new things? 

It does mean knowing when enough is enough so as not to spend too much time worrying about something we haven’t actually done yet (or maybe even decided whether or not we’re going through with it).

Watch YouTube

If you can’t find the information you need online, another great way to get answers is by watching YouTube videos. There are so many people out there who are willing to share their knowledge and experiences in a way that’s easy for anyone to understand. You just need to know where to look!

To find the right video for your question, start with typing in “how-to video” into Google or YouTube itself (you can also use “how do I” instead of “how do we”). 

This will give you tons of options based on what kind of questions people ask about what they want to know how to do. 

For example, if someone were looking for marketing advice on how best their website could be optimized for search engines and social media sharing, they could type into Google something like “best ways optimize website” or “best ways optimize the website for organic traffic.” 

These terms would bring up several helpful videos where experts share their knowledge on this topic.

Listen To Podcasts

Podcasts are a great way to learn about marketing. They’re easy to listen to and can be listened to on the go. You can find podcasts on your phone, in the car, or while walking around town.

Podcasts cost nothing but time some of them are even free! If you want more from a podcast than just an audio file, it may cost money but many do not charge anything for listening in (and others provide valuable insights without charging).

Attending Events

You can find events in your area by searching on sites such as Eventbrite and Meetup.com. 

Once you’ve found some, look at the description of each event to see what businesses they’ve previously had present. If there are any that might be relevant to your business, go ahead and sign up!

Once there’s an event coming up, don’t be shy about asking questions during the Q&A session or afterward if no one else has asked it yet! And if you can’t attend a live event in person but would still like answers from industry professionals about marketing topics? 

There are plenty of ways for companies like ours to answer those questions for you without ever having met we just need an email address (and possibly permission from our clients so we know not to give out their secrets).

Ask The People Closest To You

It’s easy to forget that the people closest to you are often the best sources of information. If you need help understanding something, talk to your colleagues or boss. 

You could even ask a friend, family member, or spouse for advice on how they feel about a certain topic or idea. 

People close to you are usually more than willing to share their opinions with you because they want your business ideas and strategies to be successful!

If this doesn’t work for some reason (and if it does), then consider asking other people who can give helpful insight into what might make sense for your business: friends of friends; 

Coworkers who aren’t part of your immediate team but may have an interest in what happens with the company; parents and grandparents; even neighborhood kids who have grown up around businesses just like yours!

Ask Your Customers

This is the most obvious solution, but it’s often overlooked. Asking your customers for feedback is one of the easiest ways to get answers to your marketing questions without paying someone. 

After all, they’re already familiar with what you have to offer and have already spent time interacting with your brand or product, so they’re in a great position to help you understand what’s working and what isn’t.

If this sounds daunting, try starting by simply asking them for their opinions and experiences instead of asking them direct questions about specific aspects of marketing or business strategy (e.g., “What do you think about our new ad?”). 

This will make it easier for them to feel comfortable answering any question that comes up without feeling like they’re being put on the spot and you’ll be able to learn valuable information from their responses!

The second thing you can do is ask your audience for questions. You may not know what they want right now, but if you ask them directly, they might tell you exactly what’s on their minds!

Thirdly (and perhaps most importantly), remember that asking questions is an important part of building trust between yourself and those who buy from or support your brand; there’s no better way than this one! 

Asking people what they want from time to time will allow yourself – as well as anyone else involved – enough room for growth without having too much responsibility put on either side.

Join A Mastermind Group

A mastermind group is where you can get answers to all of your marketing questions without having to pay anyone. You’ll be able to ask other entrepreneurs and small business owners any question that comes up, and they’ll give their honest feedback.

Here are some tips on how to choose the right mastermind group:

Try out a few different groups before settling on one. Every group will have its personality and style of communication, so it might take you a few tries before finding one that works for you.

Look for groups with active members who are doing well in their businesses (or who are at least willing to share what they know). If everyone seems bored, unmotivated, or unwilling to share insights from their own experience, then this isn’t the right group for you either!

Ask about the membership fees upfront so there aren’t any surprises later down the line when someone asks if there’s an additional charge after joining.

Listen To Webinars

Ask the people closest to you. Your friends and family may be able to help with things like product development, brand identity, and website design many people have a creative side that can come in handy when looking for solutions! 

But whatever you do, avoid asking people who are strangers: they aren’t likely going to understand your business or its goals very well (even if they try hard). 

Instead, reach out for advice from close friends who know about what kind of work interests them; those individuals will probably be excited at the prospect of helping out because they’ll feel like their opinion matters most here, and rightly so! 

Plus if they’re successful entrepreneurs themselves then this could open doors up even further… maybe someday soon we’ll see one another again 🙂
