Where The Paychecks Are Biggest For Freelance Writers

If you’re a freelance writer, I don’t need to tell you that it can be hard out there. But here’s some good news: if you play your cards right, the paychecks can be pretty big.

It all comes down to knowing where to look for decent-paying clients and what skills you possess that make you more desirable to them.

From luxury travel writing to applying your knowledge of artificial intelligence to the medical field, this guide is going to help you figure out how make more money as a freelancer. Now let’s dive in!

White Papers

Writing white papers is a great way to position yourself as an expert and sell your services. A white paper is a research-based paper that’s usually 10 pages or less with easily digestible ideas that are relevant to the reader.

Writing a white paper is also time-consuming and can be challenging, especially if you’ve never written one before. To make sure you get it right the first time:

Make sure your topic is relevant and accurate before you start writing about it.

For example, if you want to write about how one company’s customer service department deals with customer complaints, make sure their process aligns with what others do in their industry and don’t just copy them!

You’ll look like an amateur who hasn’t done their homework if you do this wrong.

Try not to use jargon unless absolutely necessary (and then only briefly). If someone doesn’t know what “cognitive dissonance” means when reading your white paper.

They probably won’t hire you because they’re not interested in learning things from someone else anyway they’re looking for solutions!

Press Release

Press releases are a great way to get your name out there and build your brand. If you want to be known as the go-to person for health and wellness articles, press releases are a great way to start building that reputation.

You can also use it as an opportunity to get your name in the news or on websites. This is an effective way of getting site traffic because people will often share content they find interesting on social media sites like Facebook or Twitter; this will increase your exposure even more!

Press releases can help with SEO (search engine optimization), so if you’re looking for ways to improve your website traffic then this may be one solution for doing so but it does come with its own set of challenges as well:

Website Copy

Website copy is the text that appears on a website. It’s important because it’s the first thing people see when they visit a website, and it can make or break their decision to stay.

Most websites have at least some original content since no one wants to read an article or purchase something from an entirely generic page. So how do you write content that attracts readers?

You need to know what makes people want to buy things or subscribe to newsletters or otherwise take action (like sharing your blog post). What words are used in these calls to action? How can you use them in your own writing?

SEO Optimized Blog Post

SEO stands for Search Engine Optimization. It’s the process of making your website or blog more visible to search engines, like Google and Bing, so that they’ll list it higher in their rankings when people look for similar content on their networks.

Blog posts are articles that appear on your website or blog. They’re usually written by you (or sometimes another writer), but it’s important to note that they don’t always have to be original works:

You can repurpose existing content as long as you cite and link back to its source material whenever possible.

You can optimize a blog post with any number of different elements: using keywords in the title, introducing a call-to-action at some point during the post (like asking readers what they thought about something), having images with alt text describing them…the list goes on!

Social Media Content

When you’re starting out and trying to build your freelance writing business, it’s important that people know who you are. The easiest way to do this is by building your social media presence.

You can use social media to promote your other work or use it as a space where you can share stories and tips about freelancing. It’s also an excellent way for people to get a feel for what kind of writer you are your voice, style, etc.

And if they like what they see there then chances are likely good that they’ll want to hire you in the future (especially if their company has been featured on one of those platforms).

Print Advertisement

Print advertising is a great way to get your name out there, and you can charge more for print advertising than other types of writing. If you’re good at what you do, there’s a good chance you’ll be in high demand.

You can write for magazines or newspapers, as well as print advertisements for businesses that want to get their names out there through newspaper or magazine ads.

There are a few different ways to go about this:

Write ad copy for products directly related to the product or service being sold by the company (such as a car dealership). This will help them sell their product better!

Write articles that inform readers about new products coming out soon and why they should buy them or how they work better than competitors’ products.

This is especially useful if it relates again in some way to the original thing being advertised (like an article outlining reasons why using Google Maps instead of Apple Maps is best).

You can also find ways in which these articles tie back into even more general topics such as human behavior/psychology research studies conducted over time by various universities around America today;

But make sure not too much detail gets lost during translation between “studying” and “wanting people buying things.”

Landing Page Copy

Landing pages are important for many reasons:

Search engine optimization (SEO). Google and other search engines like to see a single landing page for each of your products or services.

Conversion. A good landing page will help convert visitors into leads, which can then be turned into customers.

Branding. Your brand is represented by the look and feel of your website, including your home page and all subpages that point to it but it also includes the look and feels of individual product pages, such as those that sell books or courses on Amazon via affiliate links.

Email Newsletter

If you’re in the business of writing, email newsletters are one of your best tools for building authority and trust with your audience.

Email newsletters are a great way to build a relationship with clients and prospects. They’re also an excellent way to promote content (including links to new articles, podcasts, or books), develop relationships, and engage with people who may be interested in subscribing.

In addition to these reasons, email newsletters have been shown time and again as a highly effective way to convert subscribers into paying customers who will purchase products from you (in fact, it’s my favorite form of marketing).

Brochure

You might not be aware, but there are a lot of different types of brochures. There are brochures for business, fundraising, and non-profit causes.

Brochures can be made from a variety of different materials. Some materials include paper, vinyl, and plastic. There are even some that use recycled products in their production.

A brochure is used to inform people about something or someplace in an easy-to-digest form that can be read quickly without too much time spent reading through the details.

A good example is information found inside an airplane seatback pocket or magazine on board an airplane it’s brief but gives you enough information on how to engage with your fellow passengers or at least keep yourself entertained during flight hours!

Copywriting/Direct Response Marketing

Copywriting is the art of writing to persuade people to buy a product. In direct response marketing, copywriters write sales letters and email subject lines that are designed to convince readers of the value of a product or service.

They also craft landing page headlines, social media posts, and print advertisements.

Most freelance writers specialize in one type of copywriting: selling services (freelance writing for content sites), selling products (selling e-books on Amazon), or selling both (SEO articles).

Copywriters can make anywhere from $0-$150+ per hour depending on what they’re working on and how skilled they are at it.

Online Video Script

An online video script also called a voice-over script or VO script, is what you write when you’re hired to write the words that will be spoken by a voice actor in an online video.

Because of this, there are two parts to writing an online video script:

1) the storyboard and

2) the actual words were spoken by the voice actor.

If you want to write for this type of freelance writing job, you must know how to do both of these things well. You’ll need to know how to come up with ideas for videos and how much time each part takes so that you can plan accordingly.

You may also want some experience as a writer with professional credits under your belt before attempting this type of freelance writing job but if not, don’t worry!

There are many resources available specifically designed for newbie writers who’ve never worked with scripts before (such as our own How To Write A Voice Over Script guide).

Once your training is complete and all your ducks are in order (homework assignments completed), then all it takes is one awesome idea and some practice at creating scripts until they’re perfect! Once everything falls into place your casting call goes viral;

Ellen DeGeneres calls asking if she could use one of them on her show you’ll have earned yourself quite a following!

Commercials

Commercials are short, usually between 30 and 60 seconds long. They’re used to sell a product or service and often come with a catchy jingle or slogan.

Commercials are written by copywriters (think: Hollywood screenwriters) who work for ad agencies or in-house at companies who want to advertise their products. Commercials can be seen on TV and radio, as well as print ads in magazines and newspapers.

They’re also used online through social media channels like Facebook or Instagram, which is where most people consume the majority of their entertainment these days anyway!

Webinar Presentation Material

Webinar presentation material is a great way to get your message out to people who wouldn’t normally be interested in what you have to say.

If you’re like me and don’t usually enjoy going through the hassle of writing something from scratch, this could be the perfect solution for getting your message out there.

If you want to start writing webinar presentation material, I’d suggest checking out [this site](https://www.webintroguide.com/section/call-to-action/). There are plenty of tips on how you can make sure that people will attend your webinars, including:

Giving away valuable content (like ebooks) so that people will want what’s on offer later on when they sign up for the webinar

Creating an irresistible offer that people won’t be able to resist signing up for

Pitch Decks/Investor Presentations

If you’re interested in pitching decks, one thing to consider is that you can charge a premium for this work. It’s probably more specialized than the more general writing jobs, and investors pay well (if they’re paying at all) for high-quality pitches.

If you’re interested in specializing in investor presentations, it’s a good idea to make sure your portfolio includes examples of everything from company profiles and business plans to investor pitches.

Freelance Writing Can Be A Great Career If You Know What Your Services Are Worth

There are many advantages to being a freelancer, including:

  • You can choose the projects you want to work on or work for multiple clients at once.
  • You can work from home and set your schedule as you like.

You get to own your own business, all by yourself! Or maybe with partners, but still you’re in charge.

And if not, there’s always P&J Consulting where I’m sure they would be happy to take any overflow business from other clients who just don’t have time for it anymore because of how busy they’ve gotten since hiring me…

Conclusion

We’re sure you’ve noticed that there are a wide variety of items listed in this article. We hope that it helps you to find the right niche for your freelance writing career. Good luck!
