Build Backlinks & Get Authority By Contributing To Social Media

When it comes to social media, you may think of Facebook as a way to keep up with old high school friends and Instagram as an app for checking out photos of your favorite celebrities’ recent vacations.

But if you’re in business, you should also understand that social media can help you and your company build backlinks.

This is the process of connecting your website or business to other websites to increase traffic, improve SEO (search engine optimization), and build authority.

Backlinking is one of the best ways to grow your brand’s reputation online and it’s free! Using social media to build backlinks is one way you can do that.

By simply creating profiles on major platforms like Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, Quora, Reddit, and more and then frequently posting content on those sites you’ll be able to promote yourself in front of a massive audience while simultaneously telling search engines that yes.

You are an expert at what you do and would be perfect for their top results pages. We’ve identified several ways businesses can use these platforms effectively below:

Find Publications That Cover Your Topics

To find publications that will help you build backlinks, you need to start by finding publications that cover topics similar to what your website is all about. For example, if your site is about dogs and their health benefits, then you want to find websites that are already covering this topic.

The next step is to find publications with a readership similar to your target audience. This helps ensure that people who come across the link will be interested in what they’re reading; after all, no point in contributing a great piece of content if no one reads it!

It’s also important for you to look at the social media presence of these blogs: how active are they? Are they getting lots of shares? Do they have plenty of comments on each post?

These things tell us how popular a blog is and if we want our blog posts shared and read by thousands (or even millions) of people worldwide then we need our blog posts to get noticed by other influential bloggers/journos first!

Building a successful social media presence requires teamwork and strategy. Learn how to assemble and lead a productive team by following our guide on how to start a social media team for your business.

Pitch An Article

Pitching an article to a publication is the best way to get your name out there as an expert and get authority in your niche.

To do this, you need to pitch the right publication. Find out who writes for that publication most often, then read their articles and figure out what their style is:

Is it a long form? If so, you’ll want to write a long-form piece that’s more than 2,000 words long. This gives you room for nuance and in-depth discussion of topics within your niche area. Longer articles also allow you more space for keyword optimization (more on that later).

Is it short form? If so and if it makes sense for your topic you should consider pitching a shorter piece with less content but a higher value per word (e.g., “How I Improved My Productivity by 25% in 6 Months”).

Short pieces are great when they provide concrete information; they’re not necessarily better than longer ones.

But they have different goals and tend to have higher engagement rates because readers don’t have time or interest in reading large amounts of text before getting what they need from an article

Write For Them For Free

This may seem like a no-brainer, but it’s often overlooked. If you provide value to the reader, they will be more likely to read your content and share it with others. The great thing about this strategy is that it can help you build a relationship with other influencers in the industry.

As an example, let’s say that I have written a guest post for another blogger’s blog (let’s call him “Joe”). Joe has gained some recognition in his niche because of his amazing content and helpful advice for other bloggers like myself.

By writing for his blog and allowing him to publish my work on his site, he will see me as an authority figure within my industry and may even invite me back as a contributing author!

This could open up doors for collaborations down the road or even lead towards future job opportunities where he might need someone who specializes in what I write about now (blogging).

Answer Questions In Quora

You can also add to your authority by answering questions on Quora. This is a great way to target specific keywords and build backlinks, but another benefit is that it demonstrates how you are an expert on the topic.

You will also be able to add links to your website or any other relevant pages from this content, which helps get more traffic from those pages as well.

Quora is a site where people ask questions about anything under the sun from what foods are best for weight loss to how much does it cost to start a business in France or Japan?

The answers are then voted up by other users based on their usefulness and accuracy, so once you’ve made some quality contributions with useful information, they’ll show up higher in search results than when someone just asks “What’s the best SEO strategy?”

Connect With Major Influencers On Social Media

If you want to get authority with your content, it’s important to build relationships with other influencers. Influencers are people who have a large following and influence the opinions of their audience.

Finding the right influencer is essential for getting more traffic and building backlinks in 2019. If you can find one or two influencers who can help promote your content, your SEO rankings will improve drastically.

Engage With People On Twitter

Social media is a great way to engage with people who are interested in what you have to say, or at least that’s the whole idea. But it can be hard sometimes when you feel like no one cares about what you’re saying.

But if you’re smart about how you use social media, it’s possible to find just the right people who will appreciate what you have to offer. This will help build connections between your brand and those who would otherwise never know about it. In other words:

Twitter is a great place for finding new contacts and building relationships with them!

Start A Podcast

A podcast is a series of audio files (typically, but not necessarily, mp3s) that are hosted online and can be downloaded. They’re like in-depth radio shows. You will need to record your voice using something like Audacity or GarageBand and edit it at some point.

This can be time-consuming, but it’s also the most important part of creating a successful podcast. If you want to make money off of it, then you’ll need to invest more time and energy into producing higher-quality content than other people who do it for free.

If you’re getting started with podcasting, there are plenty of free tools available that will help you get started:

Give A TED Talk

Let’s be honest: if you can give a TED talk, you are going to have an easier time getting backlinks. It’s a little bit of an unfair advantage, but it just is what it is.

TED talks have been the go-to for content marketing and link building for years because they’re effective in reaching the type of audience (and influencers) that are relevant to your business or industry.

TED talks are short they’re always 18 minutes or less long so if you don’t like writing and prefer speaking, this might be the perfect opportunity for you!

They also focus on ideas; so if your business has some innovative solutions or processes that could help others solve their problems, consider turning them into a TED talk!

TED is all about passion; they want speakers who believe in what they’re talking about and know how to speak passionately about it without sounding like an infomercial salesman who doesn’t believe in his product (or service).

This leads us right into our next point: storytelling is crucial when giving any kind of presentation, let alone one with such high production value as a TED talk!

This last part might sound obvious since we’ve already established that audiences will love hearing from a passionate storyteller who believes in his message…

But there’s something else here: making the world better through social good projects or innovative solutions (or anything else) should always play into these types of things because we need more people fighting against injustice instead of ignoring issues as though nothing needs fixing!

Submit A Guest Post To Industry Sites

Submitting a guest post is a great way to build backlinks, get authority and get your name out there.

To start, you’ll need to create a list of sites that publish content on your topic.

You can do this by creating Google Alerts for your main keyword and adding the top 5-10 results into your spreadsheet/notebook/journal/etc. as new opportunities arise (not every site will accept guest posts).

Once you’ve created this list, search for “guest post guidelines” on each site or check they’re About section for specific instructions about how to submit content.

It should be noted that most sites prefer you include links within the body of the article rather than at its end to improve its overall SEO value this may require some additional research before writing up an article!

After you’ve submitted an article and received a confirmation email from the blog owner confirming they’d like to publish it, make sure it’s well-researched and well-written!

If possible, find relevant sources that support any claims made in this piece as well as any statistics referenced within its text (note: don’t use Wikipedia).

Your best bet here would be using Google Scholar or Scopus so long as searching there doesn’t compromise your computer’s performance too much during these searches just remember not all websites allow .edu domains so keep this in mind when checking them out! In addition…

Set Up Your Blog And Start Writing Like Nobody Is Reading It

The most important part of building your online presence is to get started on it. If you’re looking to build backlinks and authority, starting a blog is the best way to do it. Why?

Because the only way to gain authority in a particular field is by producing valuable content on that subject. And there are only two ways for this content to be produced:

The first method involves writing articles for other websites in exchange for their linking back to your website (such as when you contribute guest posts).

The second involves taking the time and effort necessary for creating an original piece of work yourself and then getting people who are already experts in that field interested enough in what you have written so that they will share it with other people who share their interests.

If you choose this second option, which is much more difficult than just contributing guest posts here and there because there’s no guarantee anyone will read what you have written or take any notice at all

Use Google Alerts To Monitor Competitors Or Other Related Websites And Blogs In Your Field

This is one of my favorite ways to build backlinks. If you have a blog or website, use Google Alerts (https://www.google.com/alerts) to monitor what’s being said about your competitors’ websites and then share those stories on yours.

Use similar alerts for hashtags related to your niche you can even create one for “keyword” so that you’ll get news articles related to keywords used by people in your field!

Monitor forums and social media groups dedicated to a particular topic or interest area relevant to your business model (for example, if you own an online store selling camping gear).

Post valuable comments that encourage users and answer their questions without sounding too promotional (users often delete overly self-promoting posts).

Negative feedback on social media can be turned into an opportunity for growth and improvement. Discover effective strategies for handling criticism in our article on how to respond to negative social media feedback and recover gracefully, ensuring your brand’s reputation remains intact.

Get Interviewed By Other Bloggers And Podcasts Based On Your Expertise

One of the best ways to get your name out there as an expert is through interviews.

If a blogger or podcast host has been following you on social media and finds that they want to interview you, ask them if they’d like your contact information so that they can send over questions beforehand.

This way, when they’re ready to schedule the interview, it will be easy for them to get in touch with you immediately and make sure everything goes smoothly.

If possible, do not hesitate to ask if it’s OK for their readers/listeners to see your profile links (your website URL and other profiles) in their bio section at the end of the interview. It may be helpful for people who are interested in reading more about what makes up one’s expertise!

Post Content Frequently On Linkedin

LinkedIn is a great platform for building authority, developing relationships, and getting backlinks. The reason LinkedIn is so useful is that it’s the only social network where you can have an online resume.

The best way to use LinkedIn is by posting a lot of content on it because this will help build your brand awareness and drive traffic to your website (if you own one).

To get backlinks from other websites, you need to get featured in other people’s content or comment on their blog posts/articles.

Commenting on other people’s content helps make sure that your brand name gets noticed by the community which results in more followers/connections joining up with your page as well as helping build authority through search engines such as Google & Bing.”

Conclusion

I’ve been writing on LinkedIn for a while now and I’ve seen some great results.

For example, I wrote an article that got 1 million views and generated over 100 new subscribers to my newsletter. If you are just starting then make sure to check out the “Beginner Series” where they have 15 hours of lessons to help you get started!
