It’s a tough world out there. The people around us and our brains will throw us curveballs, but it’s up to us to change ourselves in order to overcome these challenges. There are so many things we can do to improve ourselves: 

We can be more patient, more adventurous, and stop being so hard on ourselves the list goes on! Every time you take control of your thoughts and actions over time, you’ll get closer and closer to success. Here are some tips that will help you make those changes happen faster than ever before:

2. Preparation is Key: Whether facing sharks or alligators, adequate preparation and knowledge can increase your chances of survival.

If you answered that question with “an alligator pit,” then I have a challenge for you: Be more adventurous.

Okay, so maybe you can’t be more adventurous right this second. But if we had to bet on who would survive longer in an alligator pit or a shark tank, we’d place our money on the person who tried new things and had more experiences than the person who never left their comfort zone. 

And that’s because those experiences will open up possibilities for you they’ll teach you about yourself and help make connections between different aspects of your life that otherwise might not come together.

For example: Maybe learning how to surf opens up a world of travel opportunities; maybe taking up rock climbing leads to meeting some great friends; maybe finally trying out Tango makes it possible for someone nice enough to ask out on a date! You may even find new ways of looking at life itself as well as your place in it.

Think Before You Speak

You’re in a shark tank. You can either choose to be eaten alive by sharks or to be devoured by alligators. If you think about it, the alligator pit sounds like a better option, after all, the only thing worse than being eaten by an alligator is being eaten by a shark.

However, if you consider your answer more carefully and think about how people might respond to what you have said (and what they might think of you after), then maybe it’s not such a simple decision after all. 

Perhaps instead of choosing between two options that aren’t ideal, there are other alternatives available; perhaps there’s something else that could be done so that no one has any need to choose at all like building bigger walls around both tanks!

When I’m in shape and eating healthy food, I’ll have more energy to play with my kids.

When I’ve successfully launched my business, I’ll be able to spend more time working on it instead of worrying about whether or not it will succeed.

It’s also important to focus on the positive outcomes that come with achieving your goals. Instead of focusing on the length of time, it will take for something to happen (e.g., “It’s going to take forever!”), think about what could happen once an obstacle has been overcome (e.g., “What if everything goes well?”).

Forgive Your Past Mistakes

Forgiving yourself and the people who have hurt you is a choice. I’ve heard it said that forgiveness is not a feeling, but rather an action. In other words: forgiveness is not something we do because we feel like it, but something we choose to do regardless of how we feel.

The key word here is “choose.” We can choose to forgive someone who has wronged us, even if they don’t ask for it and even if they don’t deserve it. It doesn’t matter if someone throws themselves at your feet and begs for mercy; when you forgive them, they will be able to stand up on their own again and walk away from your life forever.

Use The Skills You’ve Worked On To Reward Yourself In New Ways

Now that you’ve put in the hard work, it’s time to reward yourself. You deserve it!

There are a few things to keep in mind when rewarding yourself:

Be specific about what you want and how much effort will be required. Your brain needs clear direction on what kind of reward is coming next. If you’re not specific, your brain may think that any old thing will do as long as it feels good (which would mean eating an entire pizza). Being specific helps motivate your brain to want more of the same behavior again and again.

Think outside the box! We all know that food can be a great way to feel good about ourselves but it doesn’t have to be our only source of joy and happiness. Think about other ways you can make yourself feel good without using food as an excuse (like getting a massage or buying something nice for yourself).

Reward yourself for positive behaviors rather than punishing negative ones; this way, instead of trying not to eat ice cream because “I shouldn’t,” try rewarding yourself with ice cream if/when you do something good!

Focus On One Step At A Time

Don’t worry about the outcome.

Don’t get discouraged by setbacks and mistakes.

Create Checkpoints For Yourself

When you’re working on a project, it can be easy to lose sight of your goals. That’s why it’s important to create checkpoints for yourself so that you can celebrate your progress and keep yourself motivated.

Celebrate small wins: It sounds silly, but celebrating even the smallest accomplishment is an important part of keeping yourself motivated and productive. Do whatever makes sense for you whether that’s giving yourself a high-five or buying a bag of chips (or both).

Reward yourself: You know those articles about how rewarding yourself can increase productivity? They’re not just making stuff up! Think about what motivates you, then plan rewards accordingly (for example: If your goal was to write 10 pages per week by the end of next month, reward yourself with pizza if you hit this goal).

Create checkpoints along the way: Checkpoints are milestones in which we take stock of our progress and decide whether we should change course or keep going as planned. 

For example, if during one checkpoint I decided I wanted to write 50 pages instead of 40 because I felt like it would be easier for me then I could make sure my next checkpoint was also 50 pages rather than 40 just so there wasn’t too much pressure on myself

Learn From Your Mistakes

One of the most important parts of being an entrepreneur is learning from your mistakes. There are plenty of times when you’ll feel like giving up, but it’s not an option if you want to succeed as a businessperson. 

The only way to get better at something is through practice and constant learning! If a mistake was made, learn from it and move on. There will always be more opportunities to try again another day.

Don’t be afraid to ask for help either many people might be willing to lend their expertise in exchange for some free publicity or other benefits (like free samples). 

You don’t have to do everything all by yourself either it may just take longer than if two people were working together on this project!

Last but not least: don’t forget that being wrong doesn’t mean that everything is over! There’s no shame in admitting when things haven’t worked out yet; just keep trying until they do 🙂

You know how the world works. You know it’s not going to change overnight. You know it’s not going to change at all until you do something about it. So stop trying to please everyone. Stop trying to make everyone happy, because you can’t and they don’t deserve that much of your energy anyway.

Stop worrying about what other people think of you, and stop worrying about what other people will think of your work and decisions and opinions. 

If someone doesn’t like your art or podcasts or whatever side project/work-in-progress idea you have in mind, then it’s time for them to get out of the way so someone who does appreciate those things can take their place instead!

Connect With Someone Who Supports You

Find someone who understands what you’re going through.

Find someone who is going through the same thing.

Find someone who’s going through something similar.

Find someone who’s going through something different (but still in a similar industry).

In any case, it’s important to find someone who can relate to your situation and give you support when needed whether they’re going through it themselves or not!

Spend time with other smart, hardworking people who challenge you and make you want to do better.

If you’re a shark, you want to surround yourself with other sharks. Or alligators. Whatever. The point is that you should spend time around the most competitive people you can find and try to learn from them (or eat them).

I know it sounds obvious, but it’s surprising how many people choose not to do this! The best part about working in an office or a classroom environment is that there are lots of smart people around who will challenge your assumptions, push your thinking forward and help make sure that your skills stay sharp. 

If you don’t have friends who are smart and hardworking then try hitting up the local bar after work there’s no shortage of smart folks hanging out there too!

If someone challenges something I’m doing or says they think it could be better, I don’t take it as an insult; I usually respect their opinion because they probably have good reasons for thinking so. And if they’re right then maybe together we can improve my approach somehow next time around!
