The best way to tell if you’re going to be a good fit is to ask for samples of their work and references. If they can’t show you any samples of their writing, then it’s probably not worth your time. Ask about their writing process as well: how long do they need?
Do they use research and interviews? Are there any restrictions on the content (language or themes) that might make certain topics off-limits?
It’s also important to ask about the kind of tone they are comfortable with this will help you determine whether or not they’ll be able to write in your voice while still being authentic.
Finally, don’t forget that ghostwriters have feelings too! Make sure you treat them respectfully throughout the process so both parties come out happy at the end!
How Much Do Your Services Cost?
The short answer: it depends on the length of your book, the complexity of your project, and the number of pages involved. For example, a novel-length manuscript may cost $10,000 to $50,000 (or more), while a shorter nonfiction book can run in the hundreds of dollars.

What Form Of Payment Do You Accept?

Do You Have A Minimum Or Maximum Time Limit Per Session?
This is a question I get asked all the time, and I always respond with a simple, “It depends.” The number of sessions will depend on the project, client and writer involved. For example:
If you have a short deadline or are looking for someone to help you out with your writing duties regularly, then it’s likely that your ghostwriting sessions will be shorter in duration than those of someone who has more time available to them (or who works slower).
If your project is already well underway but needs some additional work (e.g., copyediting), then there’s no reason why it couldn’t be completed within one or two sessions.
However, if this were an initial project where all research needed doing or interviews needed conducting as well as writing itself is done from scratch (i.e., neither of these had been done before).
Then we’d probably need to book in at least three sessions just to make sure everything gets covered properly and that’s assuming everything runs smoothly!
How Many Projects Will You Work On At Once?
One of the most important things for you to know about me is that I’m able to work on multiple projects at once. I have found that this helps me better serve my clients on time, as well as helps them get their books done sooner than they could have otherwise.
However, you need to know that I will not take on more than two projects at once any more than that and my productivity would suffer greatly.
So yes, I can work on multiple projects at once! But before we continue to talk about how many projects you can expect me to be working on right now (or if there’s anything else we should discuss), let’s take some time to think about what your expectations are going forward.

How Will We Communicate With One Another?
Ghostwriting is all about communication. We’ll use whatever works best for you, whether it’s email, phone, Skype, or other video chat apps like Google Hangouts and FaceTime. If you have a preferred method of communication we can do that too!
And if none of those work for you and your preferences are different than mine there’s no problem at all it’s up to us to figure out what works best for both of us. So let me know which methods would be easiest for you during our first conversation and we’ll get started right away!
Can I Talk To Former Clients Of Yours, Especially Other Business Professionals?
You should ask for references, testimonials, and a sample of the ghostwriter’s work. You’ll want to know if they can produce quality material before you hire them.
Ask for a list of their clients (and make sure you check out those clients’ websites) so that you can see what kind of writing style works best for your needs.
You might also ask for general information about the projects they’ve worked on: How long did each project take?
What was their budget? Was it delivered on time? What challenges did they face in completing each one? How satisfied were their customers with the final results? How did their process work?
What Should I Prepare In Advance Before We Meet?
As a ghostwriter, I’ve heard every question under the sun. But some basics seem to come up, again and again, no matter who my client is.
The important thing to keep in mind is that I’m not going to write anything for you unless we get on the same page about what you want out of this project. So before our first meeting, I recommend making sure you have at least a basic idea of:
- What kind of project do you want? (Is it an article or book? Long-form or short? Fiction or nonfiction?)
- What sort of voice should I use when writing it? (Do you want me to use your voice? Someone else’s?)
- What topics do you want to be covered in each section? (For example: “The history behind how ghosts were created,” “7 steps for becoming a ghost hunter,” etc.)
Do You Have A Standard Contract That You Sign With Your Clients?
It’s important to have a contract in place with your clients that spells out all of the details of what you’re going to do and how much they will pay.
In the contract, you can make sure that it’s clear exactly when payment is due and what happens if there is a delay or cancellation.
You may also want to include provisions regarding termination-if either party terminates the contract before completion, it should be clear who owes what amount of money to whom. You will also want details about any late payments as well as penalties for late payments.
What Do You Mean By “Rights” And “Royalties”? Will This Project Be Part Of My Portfolio Or Work History?
The rights and royalties you receive will depend on your contract. Rights are the right to publish your book and royalties are paid out as a percentage of book sales.
Most ghostwriting agreements include an upfront payment for services and then a royalty structure after the manuscript is completed.
The publisher will purchase all rights, including audio, electronic, film, and translation rights. This means that once you sign the contract with your publisher they own the rights to distribute and sell your work around the world in every possible format.
In addition to selling copies of your book on Amazon or other online retailers like Kobo, Apple iBooks, or Barnes & Noble Nook; publishers often sell many other items related to their authors such as t-shirts, mugs, and calendars (or even special editions).
The compensation for these items usually goes back into their marketing budget which helps promote future sales of books by that author so having this type of marketing exposure through multiple channels can benefit both parties involved!
Royalties vary depending upon what type of product you’re writing: Print vs Digital vs Audio vs Film etc., but generally speaking, most elite ghostwriters earn between 15% – 20% per sale on top-quality projects whereas low-end writers would probably only receive around 5%.
You may also see percentages offered upfront before any work has been done (aka “upfront payment”) although this practice has become less common due to recent changes in publishing models since 2009 when traditional print publishers began shutting down.
