How To Promote Your Music With Social Media

How do you promote your music? Do you use social media, or do you turn to traditional media? These days, it’s far more cost-effective and efficient to use social media than it is to rely on radio stations or newspapers.

Social media has level the playing field for musicians. It’s now possible for an indie band from anywhere in the world to reach millions of people through their social profiles. Here are some tips for gaining exposure via these platforms:

How To Promote Your Music On Social – YouTube
Takeaways
1. Utilize social media management tools for streamlined promotional efforts.
2. Craft buzzworthy content to capture audience attention.
3. Enhance your content with various tools and resources.
4. Focus on growing followers on key platforms like Facebook and Twitter.
5. Incorporate effective marketing strategies to spot growth opportunities.

Create A Facebook Page

If you have a Facebook account, you should also consider creating a page for your band. If you don’t have one already, this is easy to do. Just go to the top of the page (in other words, above the navigation bar) and click on “Create Page” in the drop-down menu that appears.

You’ll be prompted to fill out some basic information about yourself: what name people should call you by and where people can find more about your music or brand online (website link).

Once this is done, all of your posts will automatically appear as if they were posted as official posts from “your band” instead of just being posted under “you!”

This helps build credibility and ensures that any potential fans won’t miss anything new or interesting happening with their favorite bands.

It also makes it easier for everyone else involved in making music because they know exactly where they can go when searching for new artists who are finding ways to promote themselves through social media channels like Facebook Pages!

If there’s any doubt about whether or not something should be promoted through channels like YouTube channels or Instagram profiles then just ask yourself two questions: 1) What would make my life easier? 2) What would help others understand how awesome I am?

Join Other Facebook Groups & Add Your Music To The Discussion

You can also join other Facebook groups that are relevant to your music. For example, if you’re a Jazz musician, join jazz music groups and start adding your music to the discussion. Your fans will see that in the group and get excited about listening!

Don’t just post your music and leave it at that, though. Make sure you add something interesting or funny in the comments section so people will engage with what you have posted!

Follow People On Twitter

Twitter is a great way to connect with music industry members and fans. If you want to build your following, follow people who follow you, as well as those who have similar interests to yours. You should also try to follow industry insiders and celebrities in your genre, even if they don’t necessarily have a large following.

If you’re having trouble finding people on Twitter that fit these criteria but are relevant to your brand or industry, check out: https://wefollow.com/. This site helps users find influencers based on keywords related to their field of interest and social media reach.

Keep in mind that it’s important for every post on your feed (whether it be about your music or not) to be interesting enough for others to share with their followers!

Find Social Media Managers Through Instagram

The best way to find social media managers is to look at their accounts and see if they have a lot of followers and engagement.

Look for people who are active on Instagram, and who engage with their followers. This is a sign that they’re getting results from their efforts and are good at what they do.

Find someone whose interests align with yours. If you share similar values and ideas, chances are your relationship will be stronger when it comes down to promoting each other’s content online!

Get Verified On YouTube

Get Verified. Once you’ve uploaded a few videos, you can get your own custom URL for the channel and use it to promote yourself.

Get Your Own Custom Thumbnail. Your thumbnail is what will be displayed in search results and suggested video lists, so make sure that it represents your music well and makes people want to click on it!

Get Your Own Custom Channel Banner. This banner appears at the top of your page while scrolling through YouTube, so make sure it looks good!

Get Your Own Custom Channel Icon. This icon appears next to your name whenever someone searches for something related to you or clicks on one of your videos or playlists, so make sure it looks great!

Run A YouTube Advert Campaign

YouTube is one of the largest video-sharing sites in the world, so it’s not surprising that many people watch music videos on this platform. If you want to promote your music video, YouTube offers a couple of different ways for you to do so:

Run a YouTube advert campaign. You can create an advert by creating a Google Adwords account and creating an advert campaign. This type of ad will show up in search results or on videos related to your niche.

Create a YouTube video ad campaign using TrueView ads (previously known as TrueView InStream ads). These are paid advertisements that appear before or during another video within YouTube’s service; users can skip these advertisements if they choose not to watch them.

Run Google Adwords Ads To Your YouTube Channel

Google Adwords is a great way to get your music in front of new people. You can target specific keywords, locations, and demographics. You can also set a budget and choose how much you want to spend per day.

If you don’t have much money to spend on ads, the budget set is really helpful because it allows Google to decide how much money you should spend each day depending on what’s working best at the moment.

Use StumbleUpon To Generate Traffic To Your Website

A great way to drive traffic to your website is StumbleUpon.

You can use StumbleUpon to find new fans for your music, for example by searching for keywords like “funny” or “weird” and then following the users who have favorited those pages.

This allows you to start a conversation with them about other things they like and see if they’re interested in checking out your stuff.

You can also use it as a sort of reverse-engineer: Find someone’s profile that has liked some of the same artists you do (and maybe even befriended them), then follow them back on Twitter or Facebook and try sending them something cool that they might be interested in seeing.

You can also find new music through stumbles on StumbleUpon; similarly, search for keywords that describe what kind of sound or vibe your band has (e.g., “indie folk”)–you may find several bands that seem promising!

Submit Your Music To Blogs

Submitting to blogs is a great way to get people interested in your music and share it with their friends. But how do you choose the right blogs? If the blog has nothing to do with your genre, then why submit there?

Here’s what I recommend:

Submit to blogs that are relevant to your genre (or at least related). This doesn’t mean just EDM artists should submit their music on electronic dance music blogs, or punk bands should only send their music to punk rock sites.

You can still submit on these sites, but they may not be interested in featuring it if they don’t fit their audience’s tastes.

Submit on other relevant sites as well (as long as they aren’t too different from each other).

For example, if you’re an indie folk singer-songwriter and want some more exposure for a new album release coming up, check out some folk-oriented websites and try submitting there even if those publications don’t typically feature hip-hop artists like yourself!

Build Relationships With Influential Bloggers

This is the most crucial part of your plan. You must find bloggers who are influential in your niche, genre, city, country, and language to work with you. This can be done by looking at their social media accounts and seeing how many followers they have.

The more followers they have on their social media account the more likely it is that their blog will be successful so we want to find ones that have a lot of followers on their accounts.

The next step is finding out where these bloggers live so we know how far away from them we are located geographically.

We then need to send them emails asking if they would like us as sponsors for their blog or website because this could lead to making money through advertising deals which will help promote our music career further than ever before!

Set Up A Bandcamp Widget On Your Website

The most important part of your Bandcamp widget is the sound. You want it to be of high quality so that people who are listening on their phones or laptops will be able to hear it.

You also want it to look good on their screen, so make sure you choose a high-quality image that fits with the music. After all, if they’re not going to buy your album because they can’t hear or see what they like in the widget then they won’t buy any other time either!

The second most important part is how much you charge for each song. It doesn’t matter how awesome your website looks if nobody buys anything because you are charging too much money!

This may seem obvious but people often forget this simple fact when setting up their widgets – so make sure you don’t fall into this trap!

Set Up A Spotify Widget On Your Website

This is a great way to help people discover your music. When you add a Spotify widget to your website, people can listen to any of the tracks from your album or EP in a very clean and easy-to-use interface.

It’s also another way for them to learn more about you and what makes you tick as an artist, which is important if they want to follow you on social media platforms like Facebook and Twitter. To get started creating one of these widgets, click here!

Embed Soundcloud Tracks Into Posts On Your Website/Blog

If you want to embed a Soundcloud track or playlist on your website or blog, it’s easy!

For tracks: Copy the [Soundcloud Embed Code](http://soundcloud.com/me/tracks) for the song you want to add. Paste it into the HTML editor of your page and edit as necessary (e.g., change the title). Click Publish!

For playlists: Copy the [Soundcloud Embed Code](http://soundcloud.com/me/playlists). Paste it into the HTML editor of your page and edit as necessary (e.g., change title). Click Publish!

For profiles: Select where you want the profile to appear on your site — for example, “Profile,” “About Me” or “Contact Info” then click Edit in Appearance > Header & Footer > Customize Header & Footer Settings on the right-hand side of the screen; scroll down until you see Profile option;

Select it; click the Save Changes button below this section; then copy and paste the code that appears below the Profile option into the HTML editor of your page (see steps above).

Embed Spotify Playlists/Tracks In Posts On Your Website/Blog

Embedding Spotify playlists or tracks in your posts on your website or blog is a great way to get people to listen to your music, but it can be tricky if you don’t know the right ways to go about it.

First, make sure that you have the rights to use the music. You don’t want anyone else getting mad at you for using their copyrighted material without permission. Also, make sure you’re not violating any of Spotify’s terms of service when embedding their content!

Create A Billboard Contest For Fans To Promote You! (They’ll Do It)

If you’re looking for a way to get your fans to promote you, this is one of the best ways! It’s also super easy. All you have to do is create an image that fans can use as their profile picture on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and other social media sites.

They can use it on their own profiles or share it with their friends who will then be exposed to your music.

The image should be fun and eye-catching with some kind of contest attached so people will want to do something with it (i.e., enter the contest) for them to win something cool or gain points towards winning something even cooler!
