Keep Up Your Grades In High School
One of the most important things to do when you’re in high school is to keep your grades up (especially in math and science). To land a job as a mechanical engineer, you need to have at least one year of college-level courses under your belt.
If you don’t plan on going straight into college after graduating from high school, get as much experience with drafting and working with materials as possible during those years.
If it seems like your grades aren’t where they need to be and it’s hard for you to stay motivated, think about how much money there will be in your bank account when this is all over!

These types of programs are very helpful if you’re looking for a job as an engineer because there’s so much competition out there! It makes sense: Why wouldn’t you want to get involved with something that can help advance your career?

Get Some Experience
Even if you’re a straight-A student, having a few months of hands-on experience is the best way to get your foot in the door of your dream job.
