You’ll want to get a feel for what the organization is all about. If you’re looking at companies that have been in business for a long time, go back and find out why they started and what their mission was when they first got started. 

Find out if it still aligns with where the company is today and why that matters.

For example, let’s say that you’re interested in role as a content writer at Google. The company website tells us that Google “organizes the world’s information and makes it universally accessible and useful.” 

That sounds like an amazing place to work! But wait: In 2001, Sergey Brin said this about Google’s mission: 

“Google aims to organize the world’s information; make it universally accessible and useful, and do so in ways that maximize user trust on behalf of our clients and customers.” 

So while both statements are true, one has much more detail than the other which means there may be some room for interpretation if we only look at one statement without any context around its creation or evolution over time!

Create A Great Linkedin Profile

When you’re applying for a job, you must have a professional-looking LinkedIn profile. A great way to start is by making sure your profile photo looks good and is up-to-date. 

You also need to make sure that all of the information on your profile including your summary, headline, and URL is accurate and well-written.

You must use both the Summary section (which appears at the top of your profile) as well as the Summary box to describe yourself in two different ways: 

One short paragraph where people can learn more about who you are professional; and another way that allows them to see what types of jobs or projects you’ve worked on before so they can see if there’s any overlap between their needs and yours!

Don’t Hide Behind Your Online Persona 

You can’t hide behind your online persona. You may be tempted to do this, but you need to be honest about who you are and what you bring to the table. 

If a potential employer is interested in hiring someone with a particular skill set, it’s best for everyone if they know that person has what they need before beginning the interview process.

For example, suppose you’re applying for a writing position at an online magazine and one of their requirements is that applicants have experience writing about travel and food (which would make sense since the magazine covers both topics). 

If this requirement doesn’t apply to who you are as a writer if, say, it’s not something that interests or excites you then don’t pretend otherwise!

Then it might make sense for you to focus on applying only within those niches when looking for jobs online rather than trying something new every time without knowing if it’s right yet (although sometimes people do end up loving things after trying them!).
