How To Land Your Dream Job As Concierge

I’m always surprised when people say that they “don’t have time” to do things like meditate, practice gratitude, or set goals.

After all, I’ve been living with the lifestyle of an international Concierge for years now, and these are some of my best tools for success all of which take no more than five minutes a day.

So it’s not as if I’m saying you need to quit your job and start over again from scratch; rather, these are simple changes that will help you get your career on track so that someday soon you can wake up every day knowing exactly what to do next:

Be Excited

The best way to show that you’re a great fit for the job is by being excited about it.

Excitement is infectious and can help change people’s minds. If you’re gung-ho about this position, others might be more likely to believe in your potential as well.

Don’t fake excitement just because you think it’ll help get the job; if that’s what you’re doing, it’ll only make things worse when people realize how unenthusiastic and insincere your words were from the start.

Be Positive

When you’re working a job, it’s easy to fall into negative thought patterns. You might start thinking things like “I hate this” or “This isn’t working out.”

But when you’re looking for a new job and trying to land your dream job as a concierge, it’s important to avoid these types of thoughts as much as possible.

Instead, think positive thoughts about yourself, about the job opportunities that are out there for you, and how great it will be when you get this new gig!

Positive thinking will help motivate you toward achieving your goals and being successful in finding employment. It’ll also help keep your spirits up during those tough times when clients aren’t being so nice (and believe me these can happen!).

So next time that alarm wakes up with nothing but bad news on the radio? Or does someone takes one look at their credit card bill after all those vacations last year? Take a deep breath and remind yourself that everything is going to turn out fine because life is good!

Keep A Journal To Help You Take Stock Of How You Spent Your Time And How It Made You Feel

One of the best things you can do for yourself is to keep a journal. Do it for just a few weeks, and write down in detail what you did every day. Include how it made you feel and if any patterns emerged.

Keep track of all your activities, including but not limited to:

  • Work
  • Time with friends/family
  • Hobbies, such as running or reading

Focus On Your Body Language

As a concierge, your ability to communicate is one of the most important skills you can have. You’ll be connecting with customers in many ways, but nothing will build trust as quickly as body language.

Body language is used every day to convey messages without actually speaking. 90% of our communication is nonverbal!

When you’re spending time with people who are important to you whether it’s your boss or an old friend you may not always say what you mean aloud. However, communicating through body language can hold just as much significance and meaning as what gets said out loud.

The way someone moves their hands while they speak tells us how they feel about the topic at hand: do they wave their hands around wildly while talking about a recent trip? Or do they keep them close by their side?

Do they lean forward when someone else has something important to share? Leaning forward shows interest and engagement in what others say; leaning back indicates disinterest or boredom (or exhaustion!).

All these things become part of how other people perceive us as individuals because we’ve learned from an early age that certain gestures are associated with specific emotions or intentions like listening attentively versus tuning out during another person’s story about last night’s date gone wrong…and so on.”

Think About What Skills You’ll Need In The Future And How You Can Acquire Them

As a concierge, you’ll be working in a customer service-centered environment and interacting with people all day long. This means that your communication skills will take center stage you’ll need to be able to talk, succinctly, and empathetically.

That said, it’s not enough to just have great speaking skills; you also need to know how to listen well to be an effective concierge.

It’s helpful if you’re used to talking with people from different backgrounds and upbringings because this experience has taught you what kinds of words trigger certain reactions or emotions in other people.

For example, if someone from one background says something like “we’re gonna go crazy tonight” when out at a bar or club where another person comes from another background where the same phrase is considered offensive or insulting (e.g., “my friend went crazy last night after drinking too much”).

Then knowing how each culture might interpret such statements could help prevent potential miscommunication between them later on down the road which would otherwise lead them into an argument they probably didn’t want!

Make A List Of All The Things That Would Make You Happiest In Your Work And Life

Now that you have a sense of what your dream job is, it’s time to get specific. Make a list of all the things that would make you happiest in your work and life.

The first step is to write down what you like to do, what you are good at, and what you want to be good at.

Don’t worry about what other people think of your list it’s for your eyes only! If there are any skills or hobbies that interest or excite us but don’t necessarily fit into our jobs or lives right now, this is an opportunity for us to dream big and explore them further later on down the line.

As an example: I love reading novels by the pool on vacation; I’ve always wanted to learn how to play the guitar, and my favorite hobby is walking around aimlessly while talking aloud about whatever pops into my head at any given moment (this can also be called rambling).

Engage With Your Colleagues Who Are At Different Stages Of Their Careers Than You Are

As a concierge, you will be working with people at all levels of their careers. You can learn a lot by talking to your colleagues who are at different stages of their careers than you are. The following questions will help you get the most out of these conversations:

  • What do they do?
  • How did they get their job?
  • What skills do they need to know for them to excel in this position?
  • What goals does the company have for them as an employee?

Where would like this position take them in the future (i.e., what dreams and ambitions do they have)?

Think about what drives each person and see if there is anything that might apply to your situation or interests.

This can give you some insight into what it takes to succeed as a concierge, which will help guide how long it might take before making any real progress toward landing your dream job as a concierge!

Start A Regular Meditation Or Mindfulness Practice

One of the best ways to get ahead is to take time for yourself. This can be difficult if you’re working long hours and don’t have regular access to an actual meditation room or mindfulness center, but it is possible!

Some people meditate in the morning before work and others choose to do so right after dinner. You can also just spend 10 minutes each day focusing on being present moment-by-moment and breathing deeply.

Whatever works best for you, make sure that when you do get a chance to relax and enjoy some quiet time, it’s truly relaxing and enjoyable not stressful or overwhelming.

Practice Setting Healthy Boundaries In Your Personal Life With Friends And Family

When it comes to boundaries, your friends and family may be more difficult than your boss. They’ll do whatever they can to take advantage of you, guilt you into doing things you don’t want to do, and make you feel bad about yourself if they don’t get their way.

Here are some tips for setting healthy boundaries with the people in your life:

If a friend asks for a favor and you’re not sure if you have time or energy for it, ask them how long it will take (and what the task is). If the answer is “less than an hour” or “not very much at all,” then go ahead and say yes that’s not going to take up too much of either one of our time!

If the answer is “several hours” or “it’s a big deal,” then politely decline. You’re under no obligation whatsoever to help anyone who doesn’t respect your limits! Remember:

Doing things for others doesn’t mean doing whatever those people want; it means being present enough in each moment so that when someone asks something small from us we can happily agree without hesitation (and vice versa).

Otherwise, we risk letting ourselves become overwhelmed by other people’s needs rather than focusing on self-care first…which leads me right back here where I started this paragraph: setting healthy boundaries with friends/family members.”

Find Volunteer Work That Lets You Do Things Like Attend Meetings, Plan Events, Travel To Interesting Places, Or Learn New Skills If That’s Part Of The Dream Job For You

Volunteer work is a great way to get the experience you need to land your dream job. You can also build your network, learn skills in the field, and add it all to your resume. For example:

If you want to be a concierge at a luxury hotel, volunteer at a local boutique hotel as an assistant concierge or front desk clerk. This will help you learn how these types of businesses operate and meet people who might be able to give you tips about getting into the industry.

If you want to become an event planner for small companies, try volunteering with a local non-profit organization that hosts annual events like galas or fundraisers.

This will allow you to get hands-on experience planning events from start to finish and meeting people who can help further your career when they see what kind of talent and passion you have!

Fix Or Eliminate Negative Habits Or Behaviors That Have Been Holding You Back From Getting What You Want

  • What are negative habits?
  • How can you fix them?
  • How can you eliminate them?
  • How can you improve your habits?
  • What are some examples of negative habits?

To have the best chances of landing a job as a concierge, you need to learn how to eliminate any negative behaviors that might be holding you back from getting what you want.

If there is one thing I know about hiring managers, it’s that they don’t like finding out about someone’s poor work ethic after they’ve already been hired.

This means that if there is anything about yourself or your past behaviors that are holding you back from getting an interview, then now is the time to fix these issues before applying anywhere else!

Get Feedback From The People Around You About What Makes The Best Version Of Yourself Shine Through When It Comes To Your Work Life

Asking for feedback can be hard, especially if you’re not used to it. Here’s a list of people you can ask for feedback and why they’re great options:

A friend or family member This is the easiest and most comfortable person to talk to because you know them well and know that they have your best interests at heart.

Plus, friends are great listeners! If you don’t feel comfortable talking about work with family members, try a friend who knows you well but isn’t too close so they won’t accidentally spill any secrets.

A mentor. You might already have one! If not, look into finding someone who has experience in the industry or area of life that interests you so they can teach some valuable lessons along with providing insight into your strengths and weaknesses as an employee.

It’s also nice because mentorships are usually free (if not cheap) since they’re usually unpaid roles meant more as mentorships than full-time jobs!

Your boss Your supervisor will likely be able to give some good insight into what makes employees like yourself stand out from others within their workplace environment.

This could include advice like “be punctual” or “dress professionally” but there could also be more specific advice like how often should vacation days be taken up per quarter. What type of response rate does management expect from customer service calls made each week?

Do certain departments make more money than others? These are all things worth knowing before entering into an interview process so definitely take advantage of asking these questions during exit interviews when possible!

Spend Some Time Exploring Different Aspects Of Concierge Work So That You Can Figure Out What Parts Of It Are Most Appealing To You As A Career Path

To land your dream job as a concierge, you need to spend some time exploring different aspects of the industry and seeing what pieces of it are most appealing to you as a career path.

Researching the industry can be done in many ways. For example, you can spend some time researching different types of jobs within the industry (e.g., executive assistant, security guard) and see which one excites you most.

Or maybe researching different types of companies (e.g., hotels, luxury resorts) appeals more than researching specific roles within those companies (e.g., front desk receptionist).

It could also make sense to research various people who work in concierge positions so that you can get an idea of their day-to-day lives and see if that would be something that would interest you on a long-term basis.

Or if it would eventually become boring after a while if there were no opportunities for growth or advancement opportunities within this specific role at this particular company?

Reward Yourself For Every Little Success Along The Way, No Matter How Small It Might Seem At The Time

Reward yourself with something you enjoy, like a massage or a manicure whatever makes you happy!

A good reward can be as simple as buying yourself a new pair of shoes. You can even reward yourself with money if that’s what motivates you.

You already have what it takes to get the job and do well in it!

You already have what it takes to get the job and do well in it! If you’re looking for a new field of work, one that will allow you to help others and use your talents and interests, then working as a concierge is an excellent choice.

You have the skills needed to succeed in this job: writing skills, communication skills, and customer service knowledge. And these are just the basics.

As an experienced concierge at an upscale hotel or resort property, you’ll be expected to have expertise in all things related to travel (including local events), fashion trends (especially regarding appropriate attire for different seasons), and sports (both spectator and player), current news headlines.

Anything that might interest guests while they stay at your establishment! That’s a lot of general knowledge but no worries;

I know that everyone has their strengths when it comes down to protecting information security against cyberattacks vs creating informative marketing campaigns using social media platforms like YouTube or Twitter.

So I don’t want to make any assumptions about which areas need improvement based solely on my observations here today.

Conclusion

I know you may be feeling overwhelmed by all of this information, but trust me when I say that if you take it one step at a time and stay focused on what’s important for your career path, the rest will fall into place.
