Keep it short and sweet. This is not the place for every little detail about your life; just include information that pertains directly to the position you are applying for (i.e., if they ask for previous experience working in retail and you have worked at Target before, include this).

Use a professional profile picture. This shouldn’t be too difficult just take one! If you’re currently employed, use one of the headshots from your employee ID card; if not, prepare for an awkward photo shoot beforehand (and maybe ask someone else whether they think it looks good).

Use a professional headline that describes what kind of role you’re looking for (e.g., “Assistant Store Manager”). This should be short and sweet no need for flowery language or long sentences here!

In addition, include a summary of the interview the questions you were asked, how well you answered them, etc., and mention any relevant experience or qualifications on your part that may have come up during the meeting. 

Include other details about yourself: why are you interested in this job? What would make you an asset? Write out answers so they’re available when it comes time for writing cover letters and/or resumes later down the line.

Be Authentic And Confident

Be honest about your experience level. If you have no experience working as an assistant store manager, don’t act as you do. They should find out now, rather than when they hire you, and realize later that your resume was misleading.

This is a no-brainer, but it’s something you should never do. Don’t lie about your experience level during the interview process. 

Whether you’re an “entry-level” candidate or have been in the industry for five years, don’t embellish your experience by pretending to have more than you actually do. 

If the company calls your bluff, they’ll know that you lied and won’t trust anything else that comes out of your mouth.

You should also avoid making up experience and education altogether if at all possible! If a job posting asks for four years’ worth of retail management experience and two years’ worth of sales associate training every day.

Since high school graduation, don’t just say “yes” to everything without proof because it makes you sound like a great candidate show proof instead!

Bring A List Of References With You To The Interview If They’re Not Already Listed On Your Resume

Bring a list of references with you to the interview if they’re not already listed on your resume. 

If you have worked at the same company for several years and have received performance reviews, then it’s likely that your references are on file there, however, sometimes we all need to be prepared for an emergency.
