You Keep Seeing Ads Telling You That Writers Are Making A Killing In The Crypto Industry, But You Have No Idea How To Get Started

This is not as difficult or intimidating as it may seem. If you’re already writing about other topics for blogs or reputable publications then your skills will transfer well over to being a freelance writer specializing in cryptocurrency.

The first step is pretty simple: just start writing! The best way for beginners to learn their craft is by doing so and writing frequently will help build up your portfolio and reputation quite quickly.

In the world of writing, it’s essential to know the difference between a freelance writer and a copywriter. Dive into our comprehensive guide on what sets them apart and discover which path aligns better with your skills and aspirations.

You’ve Never Written About Crypto Before, So You Don’t Know The Lingo Or Who’s Who

You’ve never written about crypto before, so you don’t know the lingo or who’s who. You need to learn it all! Crypto is a fast-moving industry that changes quickly and frequently. Don’t get left behind!

First, educate yourself on what’s going on in your niche. Learn about the companies in your niche and their products, services, and technologies.

Then learn about the people who work for those companies. This will help you understand how they think about things and make decisions and why they do what they do.

Once you’ve learned enough about the industry itself to know what kind of content is needed (and by whom), then move on to learn more about writing techniques relevant to this type of content.

Especially SEO techniques such as keyword research and keyword usage throughout an article as well as SEO best practices like not overusing words like “best” or “top”.

You Don’t Know Where To Find Clients Or How To Price Your Services

It’s important to start with the clients you already know because they’re more likely to be familiar with your work and willing to take a chance on you without much of a track record.

If this is your first foray into freelancing, though, your list of contacts probably isn’t long enough yet you may have friends or family who are interested but hasn’t asked for help because they don’t realize what services you might be able to provide.

It’s time to start making those introductions!

It can also be helpful if any of them have written for crypto clients before. Even if they don’t know anyone, in particular, themselves, their network could still refer potential clients back to them (which means more money in your pocket).

If none of these ideas pan out for you and all else fails…well then maybe it just wasn’t meant to be? But before giving up entirely on finding new customers through referrals: try online directories!

These days there are plenty available; some free ones include LinkedIn Business Pages and Craigslist (be sure not just post an ad though it should also include information about how long ago that was so people don’t think nothing has happened since then).

You could even post something like “I’m looking for writers” on these sites in hopes someone looking might respond favorably after seeing what kind of people write articles about their companies/products/etcetera as well as how much fun writing can be!

There’s no harm done trying different approaches until one stick!

Before You Begin, Come Up With A Plan

Before you start a freelance writing career, it’s important to have a plan. You need to know what steps to take, who will pay for your services and how much money you can expect to make.

This may seem like common sense, but many people jump into freelance writing without really thinking about the process or what it will mean for their career.

The first step in planning your freelance writing career is figuring out how much money you want to make initially.

It would be great if everyone could quit their day job and write full time (and we all dream of this), but setting too high of an expectation could lead to disappointment when things don’t go as planned.

If this sounds familiar please keep reading because I am going to tell you about my story with my goal setting and how it helped me achieve success!

I started by researching other writers who had written crypto currency articles before me (or at least some similar type of content). These people were making anywhere between $100-$1000 per article depending on quality level etc…

So quickly looking at those numbers I decided that would be an achievable goal since they were similar levels of difficulty/complexity compared with other topics/industries.

I had worked on before such as finance-related content creation projects where each piece was written anywhere from $500-$2000 depending on length/depth needed!

Learn The Language Of Your Target Client And Educate Yourself On Their Industry

The first step to becoming a freelance writer in the cryptocurrency industry is to learn the language of your target client and educate yourself on their industry.

The second step is to learn about their competitors and their goals. The third step is to understand what makes them different from others in the marketplace, especially when it comes down to their customers and needs, products and features, or business model/strategy.

This will help you create better content that resonates with your clients’ audiences while also appealing directly to these audiences themselves through SEO strategies such as keyword research (which we’ll talk more about later).

Get Some Experience Writing Articles And Blog Posts On Medium

Medium is a great place to practice your writing skills, get feedback on your writing and find new clients. Medium is like a virtual job exchange for freelance writers.

In the cryptocurrency industry it’s a good idea to start by writing about the technology itself or any other interesting topic that can be found in this community. You can then search for keywords related to your field of expertise, such as “blockchain” or “bitcoin”.

Then click on each piece of content that appears in the search results until you see one or two articles that are relevant enough for you to read them all the way through. If someone has already written about what you’re thinking about writing about before (or at least close enough), then there’s no need for you to write another post on these topics again!

Decide Whether You Are Going To Specialize In One Form Of Crypto Currency Or In Writing A Certain Type Of Article (White Papers) Or Piece (Reviews)

There are two main ways to approach this. You can specialize in one form of crypto currency or in writing a certain type of article (white papers) or piece (reviews). Specializing will help you to get more clients and give you the best chance for success as a freelance writer.

Specializing will allow you to learn about your target client and their industry, which are both key for landing good clients and getting paid well for your work.

Deciding what type of articles/pieces your target client wants help with is an important step towards figuring out how much knowledge they have on the subject matter, what they need help with, and how much time they’re willing to devote towards learning it all.

Set Rates That Are Competitive But That Also Net You Enough Profit To Make It Worth Your While

To determine rates, consider your skills and experience, the cost of living in your area, and what you need to survive. If you are new to the cryptocurrency industry, or even writing as a career, you may want to start with lower rates than established authors.

You can always raise them later, but if you start too high right off the bat, it will be difficult for clients to accept your rate card without feeling like they are paying too much.

Think about how much time you expect a project will take and then multiply that by an hourly rate that allows enough profit for both parties.

For example, if a client needs something done within two days and it’s estimated at eight hours of work (including research), then an hourly rate of $300 per hour sounds reasonable ($400 if including research time).

The client then has an incentive not only because he gets his work done sooner but also because he pays less money than he would have paid another freelancer who charges $300 per hour without factoring in research time!

Figure Out How Much Each New Client Will Need To Pay For You To Earn Your Desired Annual Income And Use That As A Guideline When Setting Your Rates

You’ll need to figure out how much you’ll need to earn your desired annual income. You can do this by multiplying the number of hours you work per week by the hourly rate you want, then adding a fudge factor (the extra cash buffer that will keep your business afloat).

This should be the baseline for all of your freelance writing jobs.

When it comes time to set rates, use this formula: “I need x amount to make y.” So if I wanted $50k per year as my annual income goal, my rate would be $25/hr. Then I’d add 20% on top of that, which would give me a final estimate of $30/hr for my new clients.

Make Sure That Every Piece You Write Is 100% Free From Spelling And Grammatical Errors

As a freelance writer, you will be responsible for your work and its quality. That means checking every piece of writing you produce for spelling and grammar mistakes before you submit it. There are many ways to do this:

Have a spell checker installed on the computer you use for writing. This is crucial because if there are too many mistakes, clients will not want to hire you again!

Read your work aloud (silently or out loud). This is also important because it helps catch typos that may have slipped past when typing quickly or while thinking about other things in the background (like whether anyone has messaged me back on Tinder).

Ask someone else at least once before publishing any article to proofread it for you and then ask them again!

Asking someone else creates a second mind involved with critiquing your work which can help catch errors that might have otherwise gone unnoticed by an over-confident writer such as myself 🙂

Be Persistent And Don’t Give Up

Once you have your portfolio in place, it’s time to start networking. At this point, you may begin to get a bit discouraged. After all, most people will not take the time out of their busy days to read your work or consider hiring you for any job.

This is completely normal and expected; however, if you keep at it and do not give up on yourself or your dreams then one day someone will notice your dedication and talent!

Perhaps one of the biggest lessons that come from freelancing is persistence.

As long as I’ve been working in this industry as an independent writer – which has been almost six years now.

There have been many rejections along the way but none of them stopped me from pursuing my goals or ambitions because I knew what I wanted and how hard I had worked towards achieving those goals so far already so why would they stop now?
