Are You Ready? Then Let’s Get Started

I started as a chat support agent way back in 2013 and I never realized it changed my life.

My name is John and I am 23 years old.

I love to share my learning experience. I started as a Chat Support Agent in 2013 while I was in college. At that time, there were no such companies offering jobs remotely or online. I was so thrilled to find such an opportunity as a Chat support agent at the age of 19.

I got my college degree from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where I studied computer science for four years and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in 2017.

I worked for three years as a chat support agent until 2016 at Google and later moved on to become an online teacher for kids from ages 2 to 8.

It Started As A Part-Time Job While I Was Still In College

It started as a part-time job while I was still in college. I was looking for a part-time job to earn an extra income so I can support myself financially when I saw an ad posted on a job board. The work is very flexible and you will be able to do it even at home. You can also manage your time wisely because you don’t have to go to the office every day. All you need is a computer, an Internet connection, and basic computer knowledge.

I applied for it and got hired instantly by the company just by chatting with the HR staff online. They conducted a training where they showed us how to use their platform and get paid using PayPal or Payoneer once we finish attending the support ticket that our customer has submitted or delivered impeccable service in live chat sessions.

There are times when we have to answer phone calls but it’s rare compared to back when our company wasn’t yet using that system.

The call center agents nowadays are only doing outbound calls for sales purposes only most of the time, which is not my cup of tea so I’m glad about this set up of our company’s operation/management style now compared to before which improved drastically over the years since I started working here (6 years ago).

Working As A Chat Support Agent Brought Me So Many Advantages

I can say that working as a chat support agent brought me so many advantages! I was able to take advantage of having flexible time and not be required to report at a certain time. I was also able to be my own boss, have no dress code, and have a very good salary. The best thing is that I didn’t need to pay for transportation because I was working from home.

I think anyone who wants to work as a freelancer should start looking for easy jobs online such as writing articles or posting ads on social media. You will be surprised to see how much you can earn just by doing this.

It Gave Me The Opportunity To Meet New People

When you travel, you get to know different kinds of people from different cultures and traditions, which was a lot of fun for me. And yes! I got paid by working at home while traveling! I learned that it’s very doable if you really want to live in a certain place or want to explore the beauty of other countries.

Also, through this job, I met friends who I think would be with me forever. They always make me feel that home is where your friends are.

It Made Me Realize That There Are Lots Of Things In Our World

Other than getting paid for doing chat support jobs, it also gave me the chance to experience different kinds of food around the world and see beautiful places without spending my own money because most of my trips were sponsored by clients who were so grateful for what they’ve experienced with my assistance as a chat support agent.

It Helped Me Experience Different Cultures And Traditions

Aside from the practical aspects of working as a freelancer, it also helped me experience different cultures and traditions that never crossed my mind before. You see, chatting with customers (or clients) is really the only way for us to communicate and you can’t help but feel invested in their lives.

I got answers to my questions about their religion and learned about their culture, traditions, customs, and beliefs. And in return, shared mine. It’s like exchanging knowledge about each other’s experiences.

It’s Interesting How People Are More Open To Sharing Their Experiences

For example, you’ll talk about your struggles at work or share your frustrations over an ex with your best friend who won’t judge you based on what you did or said because she knows the real score behind the scenes.

just like chatting with a chat support agent where we don’t know what they look like and we sometimes forget that they’re human too one who has similar interests and needs as ours do but we don’t care anymore because it’s easier to just spill out everything without having to worry about someone judging you or feeling embarrassed once they find out that you’re actually wrong.

It Gave Me The Opportunity To Do A Lot Of Things And Get Paid At The Same Time While Doing It

As someone who was new to freelancing, I had no idea what to expect. I was lured by the flexibility it offers compared to the traditional work setup. It gave me the opportunity to do a lot of things and get paid at the same time while doing it. Plus, I did not have to spend any money from my own pocket.

The flexibility that freelancing offers is definitely one of its best advantages over the traditional work setup. As a freelancer working online, you can actually go wherever you want and still earn money while doing so since most transactions are done online anyway.

You can also work whenever you want which is great if you are a night owl like myself but your clients or customers happen to be in different time zones where it’s already daybreak when you’re just getting ready for bed or vice versa

It Made Me Realize That I Have A Superpower, The Ability To Adapt And Adjust To Various Circumstances

Chat support made me realize that I have a superpower, the ability to adapt and adjust to various circumstances. This superpower is important in chat support as you need to be able to deal with people, who believe that they are entitled, and clients who care about nothing but numbers.

You also need this ability because of the differences in environment, requirements, needs of clients, time, and budget.

When dealing with people from around the world you need to adapt your way of communication. You need to know what works for them even if it means spending too much time solving their problem. Having the power to adjust your way of talking can help in making them happy and satisfied with your service.

This is also very useful when dealing with different companies or clients. The requirements vary as well as their budget and expectations from a support agent.

Being able to adjust according to these factors can make a big difference in terms of job security not just for you but also for your team since some companies measure team’s performance on whether they are able to hit their target or not which leads us to the next thing you should be able to do which is adjusting according to needed time frame or schedule.
