Do what they do. You should be yourself on Upwork and show your personality in your profile and proposals, but there is no need to reinvent the wheel here. Take a look at what other freelancers or agencies have done successfully and see if any things can be applied to your business. Be sure to keep in mind though, that what works for one person may not work as well for another person/company; every business is different!
Learn From Rejected Proposals
If you have been rejected, learn from the feedback and understand why you have been rejected. It is important to read the proposal again and understand where you went wrong. Learn from your mistakes so that the next time a similar job repeats, you can win it with an improved proposal.
Remember that clients don’t take into consideration the fact that their rejection may hurt your feelings because they are not aware of how good or bad news affect us emotionally but this doesn’t mean we should give up on our dreams just because someone else has said no to our request!
