Use Long-Tail Keywords

Now that you know how to find and prepare long-tail keywords, let’s look at how they can maximize your SEO efforts.

Long-tail keywords are more specific than broad keywords. They’re used in searches with a lower number of monthly searches than broad keywords.

But they’re also more likely to be searched for by users who have a highly specific need in mind when they enter the search query.

Long-tail keywords are usually found further down pages 1—3 of Google’s search results pages (SERPs). That means if you use them as part of your content strategy, it’s possible that your pages could rank higher than those with more generic terms.

When we talk about “search volume,” what we’re talking about are not so many actual numbers as percentages.

The percentage of people who enter certain words into their search engine every month or year. If you want more traffic from Search Engine Optimization (SEO), then targeting long-tail queries will help deliver this traffic because these queries are less competitive

Have A Keyword-Rich URL

URLs should be descriptive, but not too long. The goal is to make your URL as short as possible while still being able to convey the meaning of the page.

If you’re going to use a keyword in it (and you should), make sure that keyword is at least part of your domain name so it can be indexed by search engines.

Don’t use underscores or hyphens, use dashes instead: avoid underscores in the middle of words; don’t capitalize any letters in the middle of words; and don’t capitalize any letters at the start of words (except for proper nouns).

Include Meta Descriptions

With the help of a meta description, you can make your website more attractive to search engines and increase the number of clicks that come from organic searches.

A meta description is a summary of a web page and appears in search engine results. They can be used by themselves or together with an optimized title tag for improving click-through rate (CTR).

The goal here is to make sure that you’re using unique descriptions on each page of your site because Google will only show one description per page in its index if multiple copies exist.

If they don’t match up with Google’s standard guidelines, they won’t be selected as serving copy even if they’re better than another choice!

Make Your Page Links Work In The Users’ Favor

SEO gods and goddesses have a lot of power, but it’s not as simple as “link to internal pages” or “link to external pages.” You need to be strategic about the links you create and there are a few different ways to do this.

Link To Internal Page

If your site has a strong internal linking strategy, you’ll want external links that point back inwards. This will help boost the authority of those internal pages and make them more powerful search engines see them as relevant content (and therefore more likely to rank on page one).

Make sure when creating these kinds of links that they are relevant though! Don’t link an article about sustainability initiatives in China with another article about how drones can help farmers get their crops planted faster!

Link Externally

The second type of link goes outwards from your site. These types of outbound links usually fall under two categories:

1) links that lead away from the website or 2) those which don’t matter where they lead because they’re just meant for branding purposes like putting a logo on every page so people know who owns the website even though it doesn’t say anything about what content is inside each section (this is bad!).

Make Your Title Tags Unique And Clear

Title tags are one of the most important elements in your on-page SEO strategy. They play a large role in how search engines rank pages, and they’re often the first thing people see when they visit your site.

The best title tags include your keyword, but you must also make sure that they’re clear and concise enough to convince visitors to stay on your page.

The best title tags:

  • Use your keyword once in them (preferably near the beginning)
  • Are less than 70 characters long

Check Your Website Speed As Often As Possible

A lot of SEO folks talk about page speed like it’s the next big thing, and for good reason. Google wants to give people a good user experience, so they’re going to rank pages that load quickly higher in their search results.

You may have heard that your website should load within two seconds or less. That’s because anything slower than that is too slow!

The fastest way to check your website speed is with a tool like Pingdom Tools or GTMetrix.

These tools will show you how fast your site loads on different devices and browsers so that you can identify problems with specific technologies (like Flash) or code issues that may be slowing down things unnecessarily (like those nasty comment forms).

You can use these tools before and after implementing our recommendations below so that the impact of each change is evident when checking page speed scores again later on!

Focus On Your Content’s Value

Focus on the value of your content, not the number of words. The SEO Gods are notorious for using their magical powers to make people think a piece of content is truly great, even though it may be full of fluff or just plain bad.

A good way to spot this is by looking at how often you’re using filler words like “just” and “very.” If you’ve used any in the last five minutes, run!

Don’t fall into this trap: if you want to create a valuable piece of content that helps people learn something new, don’t focus on trying to beat out your competition in quantity focus instead on creating something better than anything else out there.

Write With A Natural Reading Pattern In Mind

This is a big one, and it’s not going to be easy. The SEO gods want you to write with a natural reading pattern in mind. What does that mean?

It means you should use short sentences and paragraphs, simple language, a conversational tone (not formal), an active voice, and the inverted pyramid style of writing.

This can feel very unnatural at first because we are so used to writing academically or formally which doesn’t make sense when you’re trying to convey information as succinctly as possible. But once you get into the habit of writing this way, your audience will thank you for it!

Don’t Sacrifice Quality For Quantity

Before you go off and write some epic piece of content, let’s discuss the importance of quality. While quantity is important in many contexts, it doesn’t mean that we should sacrifice quality for it.

Remember that your goal is to be read by as many people as possible, so if you want to accomplish this goal then you need high-quality content.

Quality content is more likely to be shared with others than poor quality content because nobody wants their friends or family to see something embarrassing about them on Facebook (or Google+).

Quality content is also more likely to be found by search engines because they have much better algorithms than humans when it comes down to understanding what words mean or why one phrase might be more important than another phrase in a certain context.

Finally, quality means that people will read through your entire post without any issues no distractions thanks to typos (grammar mistakes) or unclear information like “site: your site here”. You’ll also notice that readers don’t forget what was written after reading something poorly written because they find themselves rereading paragraphs over and over again!

Use Multimedia To Improve SEO

The SEO Gods are shameless. They’re shameless because they know that multimedia is the future of content marketing and they want you to know it, too.

You don’t need to be a genius to see how videos and images can improve your search engine ranking by keeping users on your site longer, but if you still doubt its power, consider this:

A 2013 study found that using multimedia in a blog post increased user engagement by 44%! And another showed that adding video to a landing page increased conversions by 80%.

Don’t Forget About Voice Search Optimization (VSO)

You should also take a look at how you’re optimizing for voice search. We’ve talked before about the importance of voice search optimization (VSO). But let’s recap:

VSO is a combination of SEO and UX.

It’s not an exact science but you do need to be aware that many people are using their phones or other devices to ask questions, make purchases and get answers.

And user research has shown that these requests often begin with “OK Google” or “Hey Siri” before they start talking naturally.

Work Smarter, Not Harder

One of the best ways to improve your SEO game is by using tools that help you do the work for you. Tools like Google Analytics, Google Search Console, SEMrush, and others will make your life much easier if used properly.

A lot of these can be used in tandem with one another, and they are all free! That’s right-for less than $100 per month (or less than $10 per month) you could have access to some of the most powerful SEO software out there today.

I also recommend checking out Ahrefs as well as MOZ Open Site Explorer which is both great resources when looking at competitor backlinks or checking your own website’s link profile among other things (such as keyword research).

The point here is simple: work smarter not harder! If you want results faster then use tools that make it possible for you to achieve those results more efficiently than ever before!

These Tips Can Help Get You Started With SEO!

Keep it simple. The simpler your website, the more search engines will be able to digest it and accurately rank it. Don’t overcomplicate things by adding unnecessary scripts, plugins, or widgets it will only hurt your site’s performance in the long run.

Use schema markup where applicable. Schema markup is a set of structured data tags that help search engines better understand what your web pages are about and how they’re related to each other (for example: if you have a restaurant business website that lists multiple menu items on each page, use schema markup so that Google can recognize this).

Optimize for Mobile Users! Almost half of all searches are now happening from mobile devices; therefore optimizing for mobile users is an important part of SEO these days!

One study found that 53% of users abandoned sites after seeing them load slowly on their phone screens… So make sure your website loads quickly before getting started with any optimization techniques!
