1. Your Posts Must Be Engaging To Be Seen
High engagement posts are more likely to get likes and comments, more likely to be shared, and more likely to get more followers. They’re also the only kind of post that gets noticed by major influencers and brands who might want to work with you in the future.
So what makes a post engaging? It’s not just about being pretty or funny it’s about making people feel something other than boredom or annoyance. You need a powerful call-to-action (CTA) message that compels your audience’s emotions enough for them to act on it.
Your CTA should tell people what action you want them take: click here for details; share this post; buy this now; watch this video; enter our contest for free stuff!
The stronger your CTA is, the better chance you have at getting noticed by others who see your content and sharing it themselves!

2. Use A Call To Action In Your Posts
A call to action is a request for the reader to take some action. It can be as simple as asking a question or as specific as making a purchase.
You can use calls to action in your posts in many ways:
Use your post headline to get people’s attention and lead them into the body of your blog post with questions such as “Have you ever wondered how…?” or “What do you think about…?”
You can also create an image and ask people when they see it on social media if they would be interested in something or if they have any questions about it.
That way, when someone sees this image on their newsfeeds, it will grab their attention because it seems like an ad that has been customized just for them!
3. Tell Your Followers What They Can Expect From You
Let them know what kind of content you’ll be posting, how frequently, and when. When you post something new, let them know!
Some people love to see their name in the comments or their photos tagged, so make sure they know when they’ve been mentioned by tagging them in your post.
Letting everyone know what’s happening will help keep people engaged with your brand and give them a reason to follow through on their plans to engage with it later on down the line as well
4. Know Your Audience
Your target market may be the same across all social media channels, but it’s important to understand how each platform operates and what its users expect from it.
To get started, take a look at who’s using each channel:
- What are their needs? How can you help them with these?
- What problems do they have that you can solve for them?
- What type of content do they want to see from you on this channel?
Here are some examples of how different audiences use Facebook:
Families use Facebook primarily to stay connected with friends and family members. They share photos and videos and comment on posts.
Like other people’s content, message each other privately or in groups (Groups tend to be quite popular among parents-to-be), follow brands/public figures/celebrities, etc., organize events such as birthdays or baby showers through groups, etc…

5. Post On The Weekends
If you’re a business and your followers are mostly adults, posting on the weekends is one of the most powerful things you can do to increase your social media exposure.
People are more likely to check their social media accounts on the weekend.
This means that if you post something interesting or funny on a Saturday or Sunday morning, it has a greater chance of being seen by people who would not normally be checking their feeds during work hours.
If you want to really get noticed, post multiple times per day but don’t go overboard! Once or twice per day is plenty for most businesses.
Also, make sure that each message is unique and offers something valuable for your readers (i.e., not just another self-promotional ad). Being authentic and friendly will help build loyalty with potential customers
6. Have A Signature Introduction To Yourself And Your Business
A signature introduction is your introduction to the world. It’s what you tell people about you and your business when they ask, “What do you do?”
It’s a great way to get noticed on social media because it allows you to showcase who you are and what makes your business unique. It can also help set the tone for all of your future content, including blog posts and videos.
A great signature introduction will make people want to keep following along with everything else that comes from that account or business; because of this, it’s important to spend some time thinking through how best to make one for yourself!
7. Use Hashtags The Right Way
Hashtags are a great way to make your content more visible, connect with other users and build a following. But how do you use them correctly? If you’re not using hashtags correctly, then it could be costing you fans and followers.
To get the most out of hashtags:
Use hashtags when posting on social media – There’s nothing worse than searching for a hashtag and seeing that no one has used it before!
If people don’t know about your hashtag, then why would they search for it? The best way to get started is to use popular hashtags that are relevant to the topic of your post.
For example, if I wanted my Instagram post about writing my first novel (below) included in all searches related to “writing” or “writing tips,” then I would use #writingtips #writerproblems as well as any specific words related to what I’m talking about (like #novel).

8. Keep Up With Current Events To Create Timely Content
You should know that modern society is all about being in the moment. People want to know what’s happening right now and they want to be part of it.
So if your business is content-heavy, you’ll definitely need to keep up with current events and even create timely content for yourself.
Here are some examples of current events:
- The latest trend in fashion
- A new hip restaurant opening up in town
- Any major milestone or anniversary (like the 10th anniversary of a popular movie)
How do I find out what’s going on? Just look at my local newspaper or Google News! You can also get notified when a new event occurs by setting up an alert on Twitter or Facebook! It’s super easy and anyone can do it!
Once you’ve found out about something interesting, how do you go about creating content from these events? Here’s what I recommend:
9. Share Testimonials From Your Customers And Clients
Most people are going to be much more interested in reading testimonials from actual customers, so make sure you provide these. You can do this pretty easily by either sharing the content and images on social media or just sharing links to your website where it’s hosted.
Share a photo of the person who wrote the testimonial with a quote from them about your product or service.
Post a video clip of someone talking about how great you are and why they love working with you. You could even use this as an ad on Facebook if they have one-minute videos enabled (that is unless that’s against their policies).
Share another link that leads back to your website where potential clients can read more about the impressive jobs other people have done when working with you and what they had to say about their experience doing business with you!
10. Post At Least Once A Day
Post at least once a day. More is not better. Less is not better either.
The most common question I get from people who are just starting out with social media is, “How many times a week should I post?” My answer: once per day for each platform you want to use, plus an additional one for your blog or website. If you’re only using one platform (like Instagram), then post twice per day once in the morning and once at night before bedtime for consistency’s sake.
11. Be Consistent With Your Posting Times
By being consistent, you’ll get better at posting and become more efficient with your time. Plus, it’s just easier for users to remember when they can expect content from you on a regular basis.
People who follow you will develop expectations of when new content will be added to the feed and if it isn’t posted within that window of time, they are likely to forget about you or unfollow altogether!
It doesn’t matter whether you choose once per day or once per decade just pick a schedule and stick with it!

12. Show Photos Of Yourself Interacting With Your Products Or Services
Let’s face it, people love to see photos of you. They want to know more about who you are and what makes you tick. That’s why showing off your human side can be a powerful tool for engagement.
Showing your passion for your products or services will help build trust with potential leads because people can spot a phony from a mile away.
When people make the jump from liking your page on Facebook, Instagram or Twitter to actually following through with their purchase or engagement in some other way, they want to know that they made the right choice.
If they can see how passionate and knowledgeable about what you do, then this is one step closer to feeling confident in their decision!
13. Don’t Just Post Links – Post An Image That People Will Click On To Get More Information
Don’t just post links. If you want to get your content noticed, you need to post an image that people will click on to get more information.
Here are some tips for creating images that will engage your audience:
Post professional quality images with text overlays or graphics that are relevant to the text of your article and/or link.
For example, if you’re linking to a video about how Instagram changed its algorithm last year, use an image of someone smiling with their phone in hand as they scroll through their feed!
Or if the topic of your article is about how Snapchat has made it easier for teens (and adults) who have diabetes manage their health condition, include an image of someone using a glucose monitor while they chat with friends on Snapchat.
Make sure the image matches up with what’s being discussed in both content and context so that viewers know exactly what they’re looking at before clicking through.
14. Help People Get To Know You On A Personal Level
There are a lot of ways to connect with your audience and help them get to know you on a personal level. It can be as simple as sharing your story, or as complicated as sharing all of your favorite things. Here are some ideas:
- Tell stories from the past that have shaped who you are today
- Share something about yourself that makes you proud
- Share something about yourself that makes you feel good about being human (i.e., “I’m laughing at this”)
- Share something funny/weird/cool that happened recently in your life (or a memory)
