How To Land Your Dream Job As Inventory Clerk

Did they ask specifically whether there was something else besides experience in inventory management that interested them? This might be an opportunity worth exploring further!

Send Follow Up Emails

After you send your resume and cover letter, it’s important to follow up. This is especially true if the employer takes an unusually long time to respond. Sending a follow-up email will let them know that you’re still interested in the position and remind them who you are. 

It should be short, polite, and professional don’t go overboard here or risk coming off as desperate or unprofessional (no matter how much you may be). 

A good rule of thumb is to not send more than two follow-up emails per job application; one per week after submitting your application and another at the end of each month if no word has been received from the company by then.

In addition, I’d suggest using keywords from their mission statement/value statements so they can see what values align with yours too!

Although it’s tempting to just copy and paste sections of your resume into your cover letter or application, avoid doing so. 

Rather than just repeating what you’ve already written about yourself in another document, make sure all of these documents contain unique content that highlights why exactly you’d be a good fit for this position.

Apply For Jobs You Enjoy

There are plenty of jobs out there for inventory clerks, but you have to be willing to look for them. While the average person might apply for a job when they need it, an excellent applicant will often apply months or even years in advance of the desired opening.

The interview is the first thing that matters. You can’t afford to let your cell phone distract you from the interviewer or even give the impression that it’s more important than the job opportunity.

Electronic devices should be turned off before entering a room for an interview, so as not to distract others in the building. If you have an urgent call or text message, politely excuse yourself from the room and take care of it outside.

Instead of trying to jump in and answer before they finish talking, wait until they are done with their thought before speaking.
