Since most doctors have required to take call duty every fourth night during weeknights it means fewer doctors are available all other days except weekends when everyone except residents’ schedules changes.

So instead of having three shifts per week consisting one day off every other day followed by two days without any workdays off.

Because physicians must report back to the hospital after two consecutive weeks away from work which leaves only Thursday-Sunday nights open for work if anyone wants something done properly without interruption;
