How To Create A E-sports Niche Blog (Explained)

Are you a passionate gamer? Do you love playing video games and want to share your experiences with others? Or maybe you’re just interested in learning more about the growing e-sports industry.

Regardless of your motivation for starting a blog about e-sports, this guide will help you get started on the right foot:

Create A Plan

To create a successful blog, you will need to set goals. You’ll need to decide what niche you want to focus on and develop a plan of action.

If you don’t know where your blog is heading, then it’s not going anywhere. That being said, here are some things that can help keep your mind in the right place:

  • Goals
  • Deadlines
  • Motivation/Focus
  • Consistency
  • Positivity
  • Health

Select A Niche

A niche is a specific topic that you can write about for years. It should be a topic that you are passionate about and one that can be written about in many different ways.

For example, if your niche is “Pokemon Go” then you could write about how it was developed from the ground up and what it took to make it as popular as it is today.

You could also write about how Pokemon Go has changed the way people play games on their phones or tablets. You could even write about how Pokemon Go has changed our society in general by changing the way we view technology and mobile gaming!

There are many different ways to approach a niche like this one but they all come back down to: what makes your content unique? What makes your content stand out from other bloggers who might also choose this niche?

Register A Domain Name

You need to register a domain name. You can do it at Namecheap.

Your domain name should be short and memorable, easy to spell and easy to type. It should also be easy to pronounce (i.e., no umlauts).

Take some time and brainstorm some good choices that reflect your brand’s personality, keeping in mind these rules of thumb:

Short – you want something under 10 characters (8 is ideal)

Memorable – try not to use any special symbols or numbers

Easy To Spell – make sure there aren’t any typos when typing it out on your keyboard! We recommend using an English word with “esports” as a suffix or prefix (eSportsBlogger) or simply adding .com at the end if possible (eSportsBlogger).

If you’re looking for inspiration from other sites/blogs within this niche industry then find out what their URLs look like first — we recommend avoiding anything like www

Decide On Your Hosting Platform

You’ll need to choose a hosting platform for your blog. For most people, this is the biggest expense you will have to incur.

Depending on how much traffic you expect to generate and how many resources your site needs, there are four main options: shared hosting, VPS hosting, dedicated hosting and cloud hosting.

Shared Hosting: This is the most affordable option and it allows you to host multiple websites on one server with limited resources allocated per website (1 CPU core/250MB RAM).

VPS Hosting: This allows for more control over the resources allocated for each website (1 CPU core/500MB RAM). The downside of this choice is that it’s generally more expensive than shared web hosting services.

Dedicated Servers: Dedicated servers don’t come cheap but they can provide an excellent performance boost since they offer complete control over all aspects of your website—and they come with unlimited bandwidth!

You’ll also benefit from faster page loading times as well as fewer security risks due to having dedicated equipment designed specifically for e-sports niche blogs like yours!

Cloud Server Hosting: Cloud servers are highly scalable so if traffic increases significantly then it becomes very easy to scale up by simply adding additional servers without having any impact on performance or uptime during those periods when demand spikes significantly higher than normal levels due to promotion campaigns etcetera,” wrote another user named “zach.”

Create Your Blog On WordPress.Org (Hosted With Bluehost)

The first step to creating your blog is to sign up for a hosting plan and install WordPress.org. You can do this with Bluehost, which will cost you less than $3 per month and gives you unlimited bandwidth, storage space, and domain hosting.

WordPress is the most popular blogging platform in the world because it’s easy-to-use and powerful enough to manage all of your website’s needs (from social media integration to eCommerce).

It also has hundreds of thousands of plugins that allow you to customize almost any aspect of your site (such as how people comment on posts), so there’s no limit on what kinds of features you can add!

The best part about using WordPress? It’s free! So whether you have little money or no coding experience at all (like me!), starting an online business won’t break the bank.

Choose A Theme And Design

So, you’ve decided that you want to start a blog. But what should it be about? The first step is to choose a niche that interests you. If it doesn’t, then things will get boring really fast!

There are several things that determine whether or not your blog will succeed:

  • The theme of the site (WordPress uses themes)
  • The design of the site (how easy it is for people to use)
  • How well optimized for search engines (SEO)

When looking at themes and designs, keep these points in mind:

Install Essential Plugins

Now, let’s set up the perfect e-sports niche blog. You’ll need to install some plugins for this part. Don’t worry, it’s super easy!

First things first: WordPress SEO by Yoast. This is an absolute must for any blog owner and allows you to optimize your content for search engines (like Google).

It also includes other useful features such as creating meta descriptions for each post or page on your site.

Once that’s installed, go ahead and activate both Akismet and Jetpack too. Jetpack has a lot more features than Akismet so we recommend activating it too!

Next up we’d recommend either installing WordPress Backup to Dropbox or just using UpdraftPlus by itself if you don’t want to pay $39/year ($29/year if you’re a student).

If you decide not to use these services I’m sure there are plenty of other options out there that could work just fine depending on what sort of hosting plan/location etc., but these two are recommended because they make backups extremely easy even if hacked or compromised somehow — which happens often enough nowadays with so many hackers trying new ways everyday 🙂

Setup Google Analytics And Search Console

Before you start, it’s important to set up Google Analytics, Google Search Console and Google Webmaster Tools for the blog.

These are all free tools created by Google that allow you to track your blog’s performance and ensure that it is optimized for search engines.

To get started with these tools:

Navigate to Google Analytics and create an account if you do not already have one.

Next, navigate to Search Console and click on “Add a website” if this is the first time you’ve used it or click on “Add Property” if you have more than one website associated with your account.

Fill out the form and submit once complete! You can now see information about your site in Search Console such as crawl errors (404s), impressions/distribution (how many people saw what content), clicks/distribution (which types of content users clicked on most frequently) etc…!

Create Essential Pages

Now that you have an idea of the different types of content you can include on your blog, it’s time to start building your website.

First, create a basic layout in WordPress that includes:

  • A custom header image (this will be used as the background for all of pages)
  • A navigation menu at the top of each page
  • A search bar at the top of each page that searches through all posts on your site instead of just one category or tag (this is called “global search”)

You may also want to include some essential pages like an About Me page or Contact page. These are helpful for connecting with readers and establishing yourself as an expert in the niche.

Write Your First Blog Post And Create Key Topic Pages

Your first blog post should be about the niche you’re writing about. You can talk about your experience with the topic, why it’s important to people and how you can help them understand it better.

You’ll also want to create a few other pages on your site:

A page with all of the key topics (e.g., “keywords”) in your niche that you’ll use frequently throughout the rest of your site.

This will make it easy for new readers who come across one of those terms anywhere on your site to find more information about it right away without having to search through long lists or FAQs just yet.

A page for each of these topics that has its own title, description and tagline (each section should have a different paragraph).

So if one of these sections is called “What Is E-sports?” then this would be where I’d write an introduction explaining what e-sports are and why they’re important for people interested in this field—and then include links back up top where readers could learn more about specific topics such as genres within e-sports or player salaries etcetera depending upon what else I cover later down below on this same page itself!

Submit The Sitemap To Google

Now that you have a sitemap, it’s time to submit it to the search engines. Google is by far the most important one, so you should make sure your site is visible there first and foremost.

To submit your sitemap to Google Search console

You can also submit a sitemap directly from Google Search Console by going through Search Appearance -> Sitemaps -> Add Sitemaps

Promote Your Blog Content Via Social Media Sites

Create a social media account. You’ll need to create an account on at least one major platform, such as Facebook or Twitter.

Create a post that links to your blog and include some text describing what you published, along with any other information that might be relevant to your audience’s interests (such as photos or videos).

Add in hashtags related to gaming culture, as well as location-based tags if applicable; this will help people find the content they want more quickly when searching for it on social media sites like Reddit.com (this is where you can also promote your own content).

Be sure that everything looks good before posting! Once you hit “Publish,” there is no going back—so make sure everything looks good before posting!

Comment On Other Niche Blogs In Your Market To Help Drive More Traffic To Your Blog

Commenting on other blogs in your market is a great way to build relationships with other bloggers, drive traffic to your site and build authority in your niche.

You can find blogs that are related to yours by using Google or any other search engine. Then you can use the search terms “site:domainname.com + keyword” where domainname is the domain name of the blog and keyword is a term related to what they post about.

For example, if I wanted to find out who was commenting on my competitors’ sites, I could enter “site:craigclaiborne.com e-sports” into Google and see all of their comments on their competitor’s websites

Connect With Other Bloggers In Your Niche Using Hashtags

If you want to build a following, you have to connect with other bloggers in your niche. Hashtags help make this easy.

For example, if you write about e-sports, use the hashtag #eSports on Twitter and Instagram. This will show up in searches for that hashtag and allow people who are interested in e-sports to find your content easier than they would otherwise.

Run Contests And Giveaways For New Followers

Running contests and giveaways for your e-sports blog is a great way to grow your followers. You can do this on social media, on your blog, or even by reaching out to other niche blogs and forums that cater to e-sports.

You can offer prizes like merchandise from gaming companies or even gift cards to popular online stores (Amazon, Steam).

If you want it to be more exclusive and only available to members of the community you’re building around the blog, then consider offering something unique like a free premium membership or subscription access.

Conclusion
