Freelancing Is A Career – YOU Just Don’t Know It Yet!

Have you ever heard of the term ‘freelancing’? Freelance means “to work for hire, especially to work in a specified occupation as an independent contractor”.

This term has been around since the middle ages yet has only recently become more popular due to technology and the internet! Many people are beginning to realize that freelancing is not just another way of making money – it’s becoming a lifestyle!

Think About Your Attitude Toward Your Job

Do you have an attitude of gratitude? If not, it’s time to change that.

Be grateful for your job, the people in your life who help out with it, and all the things that makeup who you are as a person and what you do every day.

Gratitude is one of the most powerful feelings we can have because it has been proven to increase productivity, happiness, and overall well-being. We all should be grateful for our jobs (even if they’re tough at times) because without them we wouldn’t be able to afford food or shelter.

We also need to think about our bosses, co-workers and customers being thankful for us too!

Have You Ever Had A Job That You Hated?

If you have, you know the feeling. You wish your job was less stressful and more fulfilling. You wish you could go to work with a smile on your face every day and feel excited about the prospect of going to work each morning.

If this describes you, then chances are there’s something in your current career that doesn’t make sense for who you want to be as a person or what makes sense for how YOU want to live your life. Chances are there are also a lot of things about freelancing that sound appealing:

  • Freedom & Flexibility
  • Work Whenever & Wherever You Want!
  • I have.

But don’t just take my word for it. I’ve found in my job that having a positive attitude and being able to see the positive aspects of any situation is key to success. If you can make freelancing a career, you can make anything a career!

I mean think about it. You get to work from home on your schedule and still be incredibly successful at what you do.

You don’t have to put up with annoying co-workers who distract from getting things done or going out with friends because they expect them to be there every night after work. And best of all, people will pay YOU money!

That’s right YOU get paid money for doing something that YOU love doing (or at least are interested in). Who wouldn’t want that?

It Was The Worst Feeling In The World

At first, freelance work was a dream. I’d created a website for my freelance work in hopes that someone would hire me. Then, the site got shared by a friend on social media and the phone started ringing off the hook! I was ecstatic when people started calling me to offer jobs.

It was everything I had ever wanted: freedom, flexibility, and independence. Instead of working at someone else’s expense (the company’s), I could make my hours and choose what projects I wanted to take on based on how much money they were willing to pay me and how interesting they sounded!

Of course, there were some difficulties along the way – like getting paid by clients late sometimes or having trouble finding enough work initially.

But those issues turned out to be temporary roadblocks rather than insurmountable obstacles because we worked together as a team to resolve them quickly so that we could get back into business as usual again without missing deadlines or causing delays for other clients.

Imagine Waking Up Tired, Dreading Going To Work, Already Feeling Stressed Out And Anxious Before You Even Get Out Of Bed

Then imagine getting into your car and driving through traffic for over an hour so you can sit in a cramped cubicle all day long doing a job that doesn’t fill your heart with joy or make any sense to you at all.

Imagine being encouraged by your boss or supervisor to “just put in more hours” if something goes wrong with the project but then when it comes time for vacation time, he tells everyone else they can’t take off because “we’re short-staffed.”

Well, I Had One Of Those Jobs. I Worked Inside Of A Call Center And Although I Had An Alright Boss And Co-Workers, My Attitude Towards My Job Was Terrible

I was always complaining about the work, the pay, and most importantly myself. Every day when I left work I felt drained and miserable because I let others bring me down while they were working their butts off to provide for themselves or their families.

It’s now been six months since I left that job to pursue freelancing full time and all that negative energy has turned into positive energy!

The reason for this transformation was simple…I changed my perspective on life!

When my boss gave me the ultimatum of finding a new job or having him find one for me, i didn’t even give him an option. it was easy for me to walk away with no hard feelings towards him or the company. besides walking away with some amazing memories and awesome friendships that still last today, i walked away realizing how much my attitude towards my job mattered in my life!

Working in a call center was not what I wanted to do with my life. The job was not a good fit for me because it did not allow me to use any of my skills (writing) and all I could do is answer questions if someone calls into your line asking about their account or technical questions about their products (which we never learned).

This led to burnout quickly and made it difficult to ever be excited about coming to work each day or even stay motivated through training classes at night after working all day long at the office.

The hours were also flexible but there were always mandatory overtime shifts required which meant working extra hours without pay outside of your regular shift schedule just so they wouldn’t have too many empty seats during peak hours (or so they could keep up with demand). Also being located in an area where traffic often gets backed up on highways makes getting stuck in traffic pretty common as well which makes arriving late due to random accidents or mechanical problems happen more often than not!

Can You Say That About Your Current Career? If Not, It’s Time To Leave That Job Behind On Your Journey To Becoming A Freelancer!

Freelancing is a career in its own right. It can be a full-time career. It can be a side hustle. It can be a way to make money while you pursue your dreams. And it can also be a way to make money while you travel the world!

And if you hate your current career enough… ditching it will be SO worth it! Just trust me on this one.

If you’re currently working in a career that you hate, then I’ve got some good news for you:

You Can Ditch It And Start Freelancing!

The bad news is that this requires quite a bit of work. Finding the right clients, creating the right pitch deck and portfolio, and setting up your website and social media accounts it’s a lot of work to get started as a freelancer. But once all of these pieces are in place, the pressure goes away because no boss or manager is looking over your shoulder anymore with their hands on their hips saying things like “you should have done it yesterday!” or “why does your work look so… amateurish?”

Instead of having one boss at one company telling you what to do every day from 9-5 (or worse yet 7-3), when you become a full-time freelance worker, YOU are your boss! And guess what? It turns out that being your boss is pretty fun…

Freelancing CAN make you money AND chase your dreams… at the same time!

Freelancing Is A Career

It’s a job, it’s a business and it can be a way to earn money. But freelancing is also something that people do as part of their lifestyle. People who freelance make things happen in their lives and pursue their dreams every day by doing what they love.

If you’re someone who wants to be free from corporate America but still have the security of having an income coming in every month (or even better, multiple times per year) then freelancing is definitely for you!

Frequently Asked Questions

What Is Freelancing?

Freelancing is a career and it has been around for as long as there have been people. It’s just that no one has been calling it that until recently.

How Much Do I Make?

That depends on how much you want to make! There are a lot of factors involved, like how much time you’re willing to put in, what kind of work you’re doing, whether or not you know anyone who needs your services, etc. But if you’re serious about freelancing for a living, then the sky is the limit!

Should I Take Classes?

Yes! If there’s anything we’ve learned from our research on this subject, it’s that there’s a lot more out there than just being an independent worker. If you want to become an expert at something specific like coding or graphic design or writing then getting some training is key to getting started on that path!

Why Should I Become A Freelancer?

Freelancers are their bosses and set their hours. They can work whenever they want and wherever they want! They also get paid more than those who work for someone else sometimes twice as much!
