Reason #1 – It’s Against Upwork TOC

The first reason to not create a new Upwork account is that it violates the terms of service. If you’re already banned, this is probably a big reason why. 

You can only have one active account at a time, and if you violate Upwork’s TOC by creating another one, they reserve the right to suspend your access to all of them and take away any money that was in there. They also reserve their right to sue you for damages if they feel like it (but hopefully don’t).

This may seem scary at first glance but in actuality, it makes sense, after all, this is a binding contract between yourself and Upwork which means that both parties agree on certain conditions before doing business together.

If you’ve been banned from Upwork, one of the first things that should go through your mind is whether or not you’re going to create another account. Maybe this time, it’ll work out and there won’t be any issues! Maybe they’ll never find out! These are all vain hopes and dreams, as we’ll get into later in this post.

Upwork has dedicated teams of customer support reps who monitor your profile and job history (along with everyone else on the site). They can see if you have multiple accounts, so if they notice one under a different name than what’s associated with the payment method used for it you guessed it: Banned again.

They will also freeze your funds while they investigate.* This means that even if there are no signs of fraud or abuse at all (aside from having two accounts), Upwork may still freeze all money in both accounts until their investigation is complete making them unusable until then

If you’re banned from Upwork, it means there was something wrong with your account. It could be something you did or it could be something that happened to you that was out of your control.

But there is always a reason for being banned from Upwork and it’s important to get to the bottom of it before creating another account.

In order for an agency or client to hire someone on Upwork, they have to click “hire” and confirm their decision by paying a deposit fee. If they don’t pay the deposit fee, then the job offer disappears after 24 hours so make sure if someone wants to hire you but hasn’t paid yet (which happens often), encourage them!

Reason #4 – You’ll Ruin Your Reputation

If you get banned from Upwork, the only thing that will be left is your reputation. This is the one aspect of your business where you have complete control and ownership over it. And after all this work you’ve put into creating a good reputation for yourself, why would you want to throw it away by creating another account?

If you do decide to create another account and end up getting banned again (which would be incredibly difficult), then there’s no telling how long it will take before people start trusting/hiring you again. You might even find yourself completely removed from the online job market for a year or two until people forget about what happened last time around!

Reason #5 – All Of Your Work Goes To Waste

The most devastating thing about getting banned from Upwork is that your work goes to waste.

You won’t get paid for the work you did, which means all of the effort and time you put into it has gone to waste.

The same goes for any jobs you were working on, those jobs will also be lost forever and won’t be completed by anyone else because they are now closed or canceled. Upwork has a ranking system that factors in your proposals and connects, as well as your overall activity on the platform. If you create another account, you’ll have to start from scratch again. Upwork uses this ranking system to determine which freelancers are shown to clients first. 

However, if you’re banned from Upwork even if it was just for one month your rankings will be reset upon re-registration.

One of the reasons you may be banned is if you are sending out proposals to clients that you don’t really want. If this is the case, then Upwork can see how many proposals you have sent and they will then ban your account.

This is not a bad thing if you are new to freelancing and trying to get a feel for who would hire someone like yourself and what sort of job roles people seem to be looking for. It’s also OK if you’re an experienced freelancer who wants more work but doesn’t want to waste time on jobs that won’t pay enough or aren’t relevant for some reason (maybe because it’s too small).

Hiring managers have access to a lot of information that you don’t share with your clients. For example, they can see your work history and account status. You will have to start building rapport with clients again. They might not know you have a new account, and it takes time to build rapport with clients. You’ll have to send them proposals and chat with them as if you’ve never met before. We all know how much work that is!

In addition, this means you need a fresh portfolio of samples that shows your current skill level, which can take months or years depending on how fast you work (or how good at design).

If you’ve been banned from Upwork, the time to start over with a new account is now. It’s not going to be easy, but if you want to continue as an Upwork freelancer, it’s what needs to happen. To get started on your new account, there are several things that will require your attention:

A new membership fee paid upfront – The first step in starting over is paying a new membership fee. Upwork has changed its pricing structure quite a bit since I wrote this article originally which means it will cost more than last time (when I wrote this article). 

You can choose between three plans: Standard $0/month plan; Basic $10/month plan and Premium $25/month plan (all prices listed in US dollars).

Making sure all personal information is correct – Once again, this could mean having to update personal information like name and email address before being able to re-register on Upwork because it was never updated during the registration process originally. 

This also means having access again because if they locked down access after they discovered they banned someone who used different email addresses at different times or had multiple accounts from various IP addresses then those problems will still exist even after unbanning them — so make sure all personal info is correct before registering again!

As you know, Paypal requires that all freelancers have a bank account before they can receive payments. That’s why it is important to have one as soon as possible.

This is a common Upwork ban that many freelancers don’t realize is a possibility: if you have multiple accounts, the company may freeze your funds until they finish investigating your account activity. 

This means that if you have $5,000 in escrow with Upwork and are banned for six months, that money will be locked up in their system during the duration of your ban.

If this happens to you, it could take months or even years before they return any funds back to you because they might decide not to give them back at all! In fact, some people have experienced bans lasting as long as two years!
