There are many ways to stay in touch with former customers. For example, you can send them a regular newsletter containing information on new products or services that have recently launched, as well as promotions and special offers. 

You could also include tips on how they can use your products in their daily lives and provide information relating to how their lives have changed since using your product or service.

2. Obsess Over Customers

When it comes to content marketing, the most important part of your strategy is your customers. If you’re not thinking about them and their needs, then why do you think they should care what you have to say?

To start with, focus on the user experience of your product or service, not just from a technical standpoint but from an emotional one as well. 

Ask yourself: who wants this? Why would anyone want this? What could go wrong if I’m not doing my job well enough? When are people going to need help with my product or service?

The answers to these questions will determine how you write about yourself and who will read what you have written in turn.

3. Focus On The Must-Have Feature

The second thing you need to do is focus on the must-have feature of your product. What does your customer want? What’s the one thing that will make them choose you over everyone else?

Make sure that when users visit your site, they can find what they’re looking for immediately. They should be able to see information about this must-have feature without having to search around or ask questions. 

Consider whether there’s any way you can make it easier for people to complete their purchase or contact you if they have any questions.

4. Make The Complex Simple

The goal of your marketing is to provide value to your audience. To do this, you must simplify and make the complex simple. Simple language, visuals, examples, and analogies are all great tools to help explain complicated concepts in an easy-to-understand way.

Use Stories

Stories help people relate to their own experiences which makes them more memorable. 

The best way to learn from someone else’s experience is through shared stories; stories that can be applied directly to our own lives (i.e., “I’ve been there before”). If you have a story about your product that is worth telling – tell it!

5. Create A Company Blog & Write About What You Know

Creating a company blog is a great way to spread the word about your business, and writing about what you know will help establish your credibility. However, there are several things to keep in mind before getting started:

You need to write about topics that are relevant to your customers. It doesn’t matter how passionate you are about something if it’s not relevant for them! 

If someone is searching for information on how to build an eCommerce website, they probably aren’t going to be interested in reading an article titled “How To Make Jello Shots”.

If possible, create a blog that is easy for people who want more information from you (like potential customers) to find. 

Make sure that there’s an obvious link from each page of your website back up into either the homepage.

Or some other important page like About or Contact Us so that visitors can easily navigate their way around the site if needed without having too many clicks between pages (which could turn users off).

6. Stick To One Message, And Repeat It Consistently

Consistency is key and there’s no better way to establish that consistency than by sticking to one message. The best marketing strategies are simple and clear, so make sure your messaging can be easily recalled and repeated in a variety of ways.

If you want to create good brand awareness, your message must be consistent across all mediums. 

That means having a single brand voice when talking about yourself on social media or in interviews; ensuring that any emails or press releases you send have similar language; and making sure all of these platforms reflect the same tone, style, and purpose of your company.

7. Tweet All Day Long, Everyday (Then Retweet, Reply & Favorite)

A lot of people on Twitter think they’re going to get somewhere if they tweet once a day or once in a while. That’s not how it works anymore. You need to be tweeting at least once or twice an hour, every single day of the week, for as long as possible…

And then you need to do everything else we talked about too: retweet your content (and mention other people), reply and favorite tweets from other people that catch your eye.

This isn’t something you can do with just one account either you need more than one account if you want any chance at success on social media! 

If you only have one account and try this strategy out with just that one profile…well…I don’t want to say good luck but honestly, it would be best if we didn’t speak again 🙂

8. Learn From Others

Learning from others is a great way to learn what not to do. You can learn this by looking at other startups that are similar to yours and their marketing strategies, or you could talk directly with them. 

If there’s a specific type of startup that you’re looking at, like food delivery services or crowdfunding platforms, then it might be helpful to ask those companies how they got started or what they did right/wrong when it comes to marketing their product.

Learning from your own mistakes is also very helpful but not as effective as learning from others’ successes and failures because the things that don’t work for one person may work very well for someone else!

9. Listen, Listen, Listen & Then Ask Questions

This is one of the most important pieces of advice I can give you. Don’t think about what you are going to say next. Just listen! Most people have no idea how much they talk when they shouldn’t be talking at all. 

They just can’t stop themselves from giving their opinion on everything no matter who they’re talking to or what their role is in the conversation (e.g., customers/prospects). 

But don’t worry, because there’s nothing wrong with having an opinion if it’s asked for and delivered constructively. People want advice and insights from experts.

They don’t want someone telling them how things should be done by default simply because it’s what works best for that person but not necessarily for those receiving said advice/insights… In short: Try listening more than speaking!

10. Attract, Don’t Interrupt

The best way to attract new customers is to give them a reason to want to buy from you. This can be done by providing value in the form of content or offering a special deal. Let’s look at an example:

A company called Honest Tea uses its blog as a platform for creating content that its audience wants. In this case, they offer recipes along with videos showing how these recipes were created and how easy it can be for anyone else to make them too! 

The key here is that it offers value in terms of information for the reader – whether it’s watching one of their videos or reading about what ingredients are used in each recipe (which I did just now). 

They also have links out there directing people towards where they can purchase any needed supplies so they don’t have any excuse not to try making something delicious!

11. Try Unconventional Marketing Techniques

Marketing is a process, not a campaign. It’s about building relationships, being creative and memorable, and being authentic not just advertising. Many successful startups have built their brand using unconventional ways of getting in front of their target market.

There are many ways to market your startup without spending money on advertising:

  • Host events where you can meet potential customers (e.g., webinars or workshops)
  • Create content and share it on social media channels (e.g., blog posts)

Try everything you think might work and see what sticks. The important thing is that you’re trying things out because there’s not always one right way to do things when it comes to marketing. 

But this step will help you learn what works best for your business, which will make everything easier in the long run.

13. Create Useful Content Customers Want To Read (And Share)

You can create content that is valuable to your audience by being sure to do the following:

Provide information they want. Know what problems and questions your customers have, and provide answers or additional information that addresses those concerns.

Create easy-to-read material. Consider using short sentences and paragraphs, bullet points, bolded titles, charts/graphs/images if appropriate (or other forms of visual aids), and bullet points instead of long lists…

Anything that makes it easier for readers to scan through quickly without getting overwhelmed! 

Don’t just write long blocks of text with no breaks in between them either make sure there’s white space throughout all elements so people don’t get tired from trying too hard just looking at one spot on their screen all day long.”

14. Create Easy To Find And Remember Customer Support Options

Provide a way for customers to contact you by phone, email, or live chat. It’s also a good idea to make sure the option is listed on your website. 

This will make it easy for customers to contact you when they need help with their purchase or have questions about your company/product line. Make sure that any links are easy to find as well so they don’t get lost in the sea of other text on your page.

15. Set Expectations And Communicate Early And Often With Customers

The importance of setting expectations early and communicating often with customers cannot be stressed enough. If your customers don’t know what to expect, they can get frustrated very quickly.

Set clear expectations for how and when you will communicate with them so that they know what to expect from you. 

This will help them make informed decisions about whether or not it makes sense for them to buy your product or service, knowing that any information provided by you is accurate and up-to-date.

It’s also important that once you start communicating with your customers, do so consistently!

16. Be Authentic And Entertain While You Educate Your Customer/Audience On Social Media Channels

You are a person, not an algorithm. You have emotions, and you can be funny. People like humor and enjoy the lighter side of life. As much as we know that, there are still many brands out there who are afraid to be themselves on social media channels (we’re guilty of this too).

Don’t be afraid to show your human side and share some funny moments with your audience/customers; they will love it! 

Don’t be afraid to show your sensitive side and talk about serious issues in life it will help them relate to you more as a human being rather than just someone who sells things online or offline.

And most importantly, don’t be afraid to do both: entertain while educating people about important topics that matter in our lives today through content marketing activities such as blog posts or videos on YouTube channel(s).

17. Focus On Building Relationships Not Blasting Out Sales Messages Or Pitches

You probably know that relationship building is important, but it can be hard to prioritize when you’re busy growing your startup. If this sounds like you, here are some ideas that will help:

Focus on building relationships instead of blasting out sales messages or pitches. Your customers don’t want to feel like they’re being sold things they want to feel heard and understood! 

So when communicating with them, focus on understanding their needs and concerns first before pitching anything at all.

Encourage people who are interested in what you do to leave a contact form on your website so that they can opt-in for updates from you in the future (and then follow up with them). 

This will help build trust between yourself and potential clients/customers because it shows respect for their privacy by not requiring any personal information other than an email address; 

If someone does not want their information shared with others then this option allows them that option as well!

18. Focus On Results Your ROI Not How Many Followers You Have Or How Many People Come To Your Site Or Open Your Email Or However You Might Be Measuring Your Success Today Focus On Results

The most important thing to remember is that you can’t measure anything without a baseline, so first of all, you need to know what your baseline is. What are the results you are looking for? What are the results you want? How do you measure them?

For example, if your goal is to get more people on your email list, then every time someone subscribes via an action on one of your site pages or posts somewhere online (like Facebook), take note of that number. 

This way, when it comes time to analyze what worked and what didn’t work in terms of marketing activities and content creation strategies, it’s easier because there is something concrete against which everything else can be judged.
