I started as a freelancer a few years back. I was not doing well in my job and I was finding it difficult to cope with office politics. The situation was such that I had to quit my job. Once out of the job, I thought of dipping my toe in the freelance waters and seeing how it goes.

I was looking at a photo of my daughter in a canoe, holding on to the side of our boat. She’s trying not to fall into the water, but she does and it makes me laugh every time I see it. For the most part, I was able to work on my blog, podcast, and newsletter while I traveled. I had a phone and wi-fi so it wasn’t difficult to get things done.

To keep track of my time spent on projects, I use a sheet on Google Sheets where I list down all my tasks for the day along with the time spent on each task during a certain period (usually one week).
